Nah, probably just wasnt up for it.
But anyways Comming home from work either Thursday or Friday night I travel down the normal 2 lane little 1-2mile strip to get home.
And at the first red light I pull up behind a Newer style vette(guess theyre called c5's?)
Didnt think anything of it really, light turns green and he pulls up ahead of the people in the right lane and then crosses over.
So I pull up to about his bumper and kinda just coast to the next light.
Then OMG It turns Yellow... Then Red.
I'm happy as all hell cuz I finally get in a race, that NEVER happens to me unless at the track.
So he gets to the light before I do and stops, then I pull over to his window.
I look over to see if he wants to go but he's just looking forward.
So I try and get his attention with a little rev and still, he looks forward.
...
Dissappointed the light turns green and nothing happens on his end.
So I just accelerate as normal and go on my Dissappointed Way.

I NEVER GET TO STREET RACE.

 

I doubt he was scared, just not a street racer.

i doubt he was scared. he probably was not a racer, or he just did not want to race. some of the fastest cars are the ones that will not race at a stoplight. and they aint skurrd

 

let me save up 47k for a C6 and I'll race you. C&D just tested a Z51 C6 an it ran a 12.7 with the traction control turned off.

That's it??? That's just as quick as the 04 Z06, with that being the normal C6 with the Z51 package (better tires, suspension, etc). The 06 Z06 is supposed to be 500 hp... I predict 11.9-12.3 stock.

 

Yeah, 12.7 stock on street tires is pretty decent for a $44k car with the standard engine. It'll whoop my LS1 like a little biznitch.
I rarely get into races either, I guess my car is too quiet and doesn't really stand out much. When I do it's with slow-*** rice (why do I waste my gas?) or the occasional Cobra (we really don't have to talk about that ).

 

Some guy over on ZO6Vette.com went 11.7 bone stock with his C5 ZO6....the C6 is capable of that in the base trim.

 

I saw a corvette z06 get tested the other day on t.v. Motor week...and it ony ran 12.4 the new corvette c6 only ran 12.7....Not sure where that 11.7 number came from...Only the viper has been know to hit numbers of that quality.
