Default AFR Heads

Hey i was wondering what kind of power you guys think i would gain and what my rwhp and torque might be if i added AFR 185cc heads with crane gold race roller rockers to my setup without a cam swap? Also what cam would you reccomend good power with this setup and still keep daily drivability as i have no other form of transportation? Thanks for the help as i cant wait to get the $$$ to do this swap and am becoming curious as to what results i should expect.
PS... I know this is in the wrong section but i already posted it elsewhere and nobody responded so i was wondering if you guys had any ideas. thanks for the input

It's really hard to say since I have no idea what heads you currently are using. For one thing, your performer intake should be repaced with a RPM or RPM air gap to help your motor take advantage of additional air/fuel and power at higher RPMs (5000 to 6500 or so) with your proposed changes. What pistons are you using and have you checked the C/R? Just guessing that flat top pistons and a camshaft like a Comp Cams XE282HR .565/.574" hydraulic roller would be a good match for the AFR 185 heads used with new roller lifters (I assume you have a flat tappet set-up currently). You would need to run 91 Octane or higher pump gas.

Assuming stock 289 2v (2 barrel) heads and flat top pistons, I would guess around 220 to 250 BHP at the moment would increase to around 300 to 350BHP. Anoter WAG at the RWHP increase would be from around 185 to 200 RWHP currently to maybe 260 to 290 RWHP.

All this is just a WAG without more info. The manual trans will put more HP to the wheels than your C4.

Yea i do have stock 289 2v heads and my compression is at 9:1. That sounds like a good increase and i know a manual would be much better but i have to spend my $$$ on one thing at a time since im in college. With the heads and new intake and cam could i keep up with a 2005-7 mustang? Also does anyone know how well the performer RPM cam would work with this setup and how drivibality would be?

The Performer RPM INTAKE and Comp Cams camshaft wouln't work very well with those poor flowing heads. Bigger valves and serious port work would help and make the cam/intake swap more feasable.

The cam will be choppy, but very streetable.
