Can you demonstrate for those of us too stupid to comprehend?
right hand hot-mama-mia-to-and-fro of major approval
the right description!!! How about a hand in the air, at eye level,
more or less, doing a right hand guitar strum back and forth, with
the fingers straighter than on a guitar, wrist bent, hand facing toward
the person doing it? Hell, when I go back and read it, I realize I am
using ancient terminology anyway!!! Later. prodoc69

HAHA!!! WTF???
i don't know, i still think BMW owners here in northern VA are bigger a-holes. although, it does kinda make me sick how every vette owner waves to each other on the road. BMW owners still own the crown. they think their cars can fly. i'm just waiting to be along side one of them and they hit a 'deploy wings' button and fly to the moon.
I agree that more greeted me in my vette, but a lot of Mustangs
say hello, although it seems to be more color-specific.
My wife, who constantly is trying to get me to buy "up-scale"
has pointed out to me something important, though, regarding
"bang for the buck", and I could use some help on the retort.
She notes the BMW and Corvette tend to hold almost 50% of
their retail at 5 years, while most(including our favorite) go down
to 30%.
I think maybe Mustangs with "good stuff" added might be a little
better than 30% at 5 years. My '91 was, I noted to her, an $22K
car, SN95-blown, J202/B303/GT40-headed/etc., and I sold it for
an admittedly very high $13.5K, to a fanatic and dad who knew
my car, but I think it would have gone for $11-ishK on the market
easily, in '96. Anybody else with some real price experience at 5 years
with a modified, well-maintained Mustang GT? Of course, that doesn't
mean I won't get the C6 vette Zo6, when it comes out! That will be a
nasty little car, and the darned new Cobra is due to weigh 3385, according
to my engineering source(no, I will not discuss that further, just see how
close I am in two years!). I will be heading to CA next week, to learn a
new way to fix kiddo bones, but I will monitor the e-messages. Later, guys. prodoc

speaking of beemer owners, i really dont lik ethe cocky, i have a 60k dollar car look i get from m3 drivers. once, i was just cruising and this brand new m3 guy gets next to me. he looks and does the ricer speed up thing. i punched it and took him by a car. he was pissed. i figured...FU buddy. dont give me dirty looks after you study my tail lights. in fact a couple weeks ago i wen tto a camaro show. there were 2 m3's in the parking lot. i was talking to a guy with a badass SS. the other guy was an m3 owner. we started talking aboutmy car and the m3 guy just blew it off. when the words "100hp per cylinder" came out he STFU. you should have seen the look on his face when i told him my mod list. hoser.
hello there,
96' LT1 Corvette owner here! i don't feel like i'm an a-hole...i don't feel like i'm better than anyone else...i don't necessarily feel like i'm faster than anyone else...although, unless someone dumped a few grand into their ride, i prolly am faster. that's not attitude, it's just a fact. have i run into the type of folks you guys are describing? of course, and i can't stand them either. as a matter of fact, i am in the market for a mustang right now. waiting to sell the vette first, tho.
imports? i love them! not necessarily the younger crowd that drives them in most cases though. but still, i respect anybody that can make a 16-17 sec car and turn it into a 12-14 sec car, regardless of country of manufacture. the STI and EVO are AWESOME!! a little pricey for me, but the motors are bulletproof and able to withstand ungodly amounts of boost on stock bottom ends. it's just a perfect tuners platform.
don't get me wrong, i love mustangs (my first car was 79' 5.0), so no flames here. i'm not trying to start a war. so, is my LT1 faster than your car after you dump $5K into it? maybe. maybe not. but in the end, a mustang is still just a mustang (regardless of how fast it is) and a Corvette is still a Corvette.
btw, the vette is for sale...
