i prefer pushrods too, but i like how they built the terminator, so damn easy to mod and make tons of power for cheap. nitrous is great, but i prefer having the power there all the time.

I definately understand about the power there all the time. I guess I just settle for my measily 400rwhp all the time, and then 500+ when I need it...or just want a quick rush.

With all this talk about which is faster or more easily modded, I don't really care if my car is slower than a terminator or even an 05+ GT, I just like the look of my car better, just my personal opinion.

+1 Everyone has their preferences. And thankfully........they're all different. I for one don't wanna see the roads cluttered with the same 1 or 2 performance cars all the time. I didn't choose my car based on how fast I could make it for the least money.....but there are plenty of guys that do. I chose my car first and foremost cuz I liked the look and the ride. The desire to make it a weee bit faster came later. And I'd imagine that that's how most guys go about it.

If you're the kind of guy that would drive a Yugo if it could be made to turn in 10 sec slips for a few hundred bucks, then you're a totally different breed.........one that sees the car as merely a tool to go fast. I see my car that way too sometimes, but I also love my car for what it can be the 95% of the timethat I'm notracing it.

I certainly won't disagree with 98's claims of how easy and cheap it is to make an LT1 or LS1 into a stupid fast car. Nonetheless, I'd say that fewer than half of the serious F-body fans that I've met at car get-togethers actually have done enough to their car to run better than high to mid 12's. Same goes for most of the mustang guys I've met...............maybe 2 out of 20-somethin guys actually had some kind of forced induction, or a car that would run better than low 13's/high 12's.

It's all in how much you want......how much you're willing to spend.......and how much work you're willing to do. And knowing the ins and outs of making certain cars fast sometimes makes you scratch your head when you talk to or see guys that just don't have that wealth of knowledge or experience.

Just my two pesos.

Wow....That's a good post, honestly. You're 100% right. I guess most guys don't care. I met a guy tonight in an SVT Focus that shows his car all the time, that's it. Even his license plate says "ALL4SHO." Some people just don't care about going fast and are more about looks.

I'm the kinda guy who'd drive the Yugo if it went fast enough. I'd drive a Mustang if it were cheaper to make go fast...hell I'd drive a Honda if it were cheaper/easier to make go fast. I thought most guys were like me...I guess I was wrong.

I bought my car to go fast in a straight line....I have other cars to cruise around in and be comfortable to ride in. I guess I'm just not the kinda guy who buys a fast car to make it decently fast and comfortable. I buy a fast car to make it ****in fast...then buy another car to make it comfortable.

People get in my car expecting it to break their neck....not to be a relaxing ride.

A 400 rwhp blown Cobra (virtually stock) will be more streetable and reliable than a 400 rwhp LS1 that has had a fairly large cam swapped in. And when's the last time you saw a car with a dry shot blow the intake manifold apart and burn to the ground? I'm not saying that a wet shot is inferior (the power potential is a bit better), just that a dry shot gets the job done cheaper, simplerand safer (assuming your fuel system is adequate, which a stock system should be). I've seen some cars run pretty well with dry kits.
Keep in mind that I actually own and operate an LS1 F-body, so if anything I should be biased toward the LS1, right? But I'm not.

Are you kidding? My car, cam only, is a daily driver. My buddies cam only car, which makes 412rwhp, is a daily driver, also gets 28mpg....my other buddies cam only/150rwhp/TH350 car runs mid 6's in the 1/8th and is a DAILY DRIVER....

Tune for tune, a dry shot isn't as good as a wet shot. Why do you think ones cheaper? It's like saying a dry shot is better than a direct port....c'mon man. Maybe you need to do more research. Hell, I've already been there and done this ****, but apparently I'm still wrong.

You're right, you do own an LS1 f-body....obviously you don't know how to mod your car....You provided no argument against mine. Cause there is none.

98 it is not a bad thing that Tommy likes a blown Cobra is it? And if he wants to use a dry kit that is ok right? Just because someone agree with you doesn't mean they don't know how to mod their car. You have truly shown your immaturity on this one.

You're wrong...how's that?

I didn't say anything was wrong with him liking a Cobra....did you read the thread? I said that it's in no way shape or form a better motor and NO ONE can disagree with me on that.

I've had a dry kit...so I should know. I made 500rwhp with my dry kit....the cheapest kit you can buy at that. I'd make 600rwhp/6xxrwtq on my wet kit, as everyone else does.

I guess personal experience, which I made more than mostly any dry kit/stock bottem end/pump gas/stock fuel system car will, had no matter here....go figure.
