built auto ftw

get a full manual vb, brake, and you've got a standard minus the clutch.
The transmission guy tried to sell me a manual valve body. I told him he was nuts.

Manual valve bodies work under extreme line pressure. It is very efficient. Perhaps too efficient. Shift wrong and you can do wreak havoc on your drivetrain -- tearing up everything.

ive had a manual valve body in my car for ages, and in that time ive made hundreds of runs and it saw plenty of street time...and i know tons of people who use a manual valve body...who the hell told you this?

perhaps you mean a transbrake?
+1
I ran a full manual VB in my Super Bee for years, tons of track and street time and nver a lick of trouble. I had one in my Challenger as well, same thing never a problem. I love to hear these silly rumors that get spread.

the auto vs manual difference is very pronounced with low-hp cars, the manual can actually spin the tires.

I spin them in 3rd gear.

Believe it or not.
you also have 350 more rwhp

an auto single port will not spin the tires unless it is raining.

Are you sh*tting me? There are plenty of Aleros runnin in the 15's, 14's, and 13's. One guy I know used to have an 04 Alero with a 5spd and Ecotec engine, and with just a CAI he ran a 15.1 in the 1/4 mile.

Yes. I meant a full valve body transbrake set up. I always considered the two synonomous with each other. You ask who told me this, I read it in a post on this forum last year. It was not written by a moderator. Perhaps that is why it got misconstrued.

a valve body and transbrake are 2 different things and independent as far as modifications go

When you're syncros are non exhistant you just bounce off and get it in gear. So when you're speedshifting and it doesnt watn to clear the threshold out comes the clutch and a missed gear.

I never used to until i ****ed over my tranny.[&:] New ones going in after christmas.
