If your lookin for a DD, then you want a GTO, not a TA or Camaro! The goat is more refined with better creature comforts and ride quality. GTO's are not dogs out of the hole either. It makes HUGE torque right away which if you can't handle, will eat your lunch! Maybe thats what you meant, not as easy to launch? Just practice like with anything else, you'll get the hang of it. I used to get a annoying amount of stares with my stang, but now the goat is starting to get that way too. Probably not because it is quite as interesting looking as the stang, but more of thats what a new goat looks like, i hardly ever see those! Mines a 6.0L with the ram air hood though, the 2004's are more everyday looking. For me, rare is better! The goat does ride a little rougher that a new stang though, but the trade off is it corners much better. And fuel mileage is good to for a 400hp car, i'm always over 20mpg! Only problem with the goat is there is no open top feature if you like that, i'll be missing that feature on some summer cruises!

Daily Driver? Go GTO & not F-body. C'mon!

Ride so much batter, interior is so much better...

Ls1 GTO with a driver is 13.6-14.2 and the LS2 GTO with a driver is 12.9-13.3. We had a guy at the local strip bone stock on stock tires powershifting his way to a few 12.9's

My friend owns an 04 GTO with the 5.7. I raced him twice one night once on the go and another from a stop and both time i had him by at least 2 lengths. well when we got done he said that he wasn't trying to race me but thats why he peeled out in first gear and rapped it up and then hit like 120 with me on the go.

In bone stock trim they are faster, I beat my friends new GT with my mods yet my brtother has a 5.7 2004 GTO I usually beat him off the line but will not win in a roll on or anything past 3rd oince he hits fourth I am toast lots of top end. Other mustang owners might tell you different, but Ihave raced both GTO, My bro's GTO is stock too. It is a little heavier @ 3700 lbs but the 5.7 more than makes up for it my bro's stock put down 282 HP and 301 TQ makes more down low too.

On another note my bro's used to have a nx wet kit, with that he put down 389 HP and 454 TQ and for the ls1 that kit ain't sh*t only 12.5 hp per cylinder, let me tell you with just that extra power it was a friggin hoot.

That is awful for a LS1 to put down 282 HP, that is what S197 GT's dyno around...................

EDIT: Florida... Shouldn't Stock ls1's still put down like ~305 RWHP on a dyno?

it had 8000 miles on it at the time in Virgina and it supposedly put down the same as a vette, according to the dyno guys they said it loses a lot thru the t56, it still beats me. A lot nicer car to no shakes rattles or anything not like my stang. But anything for them is about twice the price compared to my stang.

Were you on a mustang Dyno, or Dynojet?
