Mustang dyno, they said it reads about 20 hp lower than most dynos but who knows, I don't care to much about dyno numbers other than numbers on the same dyno after mods to measure gains

it would be for daily driving, it would have to be stick shift, and id run it against GTs etc i would see if the time was right. to tell you the truth it would be a fuggin rocket ship compared to my stang now, right now my v8 stang is competition for new v6 stangs. its a sad sad day, and driving a slow car is depressing, especially when youve driven a lot of fast cars like i have. time for another job. keep the responses commin! spechally from the guys with experience.

The 04 GTO's are by no means slow. But you can get an LS1 F-body that runs about a second faster in the QM.

pretty much any newer V8 will have you think you own a rocket ship...

EDIT: Okay, that sounds about right on a mustang dyno.

An LS1 F-body is only about 2-3 tenths faster than an LS1 GTO, due to the weight difference.

yeah, but they are a lot easier for the "average guy" to launch than the GTO.

BTW, my friends 06 M6 GTO layed down 345whp with just a K&N filter on a 100* day. Now he has a cam, LT's,Catback and layed down 415/389.

Well I decided to look up the curb weights for the LS1 cars.

2002 T/A=3499 lbs
2002 Z28=3439 lbs
2004 GTO=3725 lbs

The GTO isn't that much heavier and the LS1s have gone 12.9s before. I'm sure the IRS is harder to launch with for most people but John Force can probably hit a 13.2 or so with that car.

Like, totally, like, o m g, let's like, start another, like, thread--or something--about, like GTO's!...and like, say the same things--or whatever.
But where does it end Sleeper?

*HHH* "I'll tell you where it ends... It ends right here! From now on guys, we perform a search on all potential topics or questions that we have about our cars! Case and point, we have several threads in the archives about GTOs. A simple search will give you all the info you need! If that is not good enough, then you post a new thread!" Man Law?

I know that not everyone is John Force if everyone was then there wouldn't be a need for the term. I was just stating what under ideal/perfect conditions the car "could" run.

they are not the easiest car to launch although i have eaten up a couple of evos ( modded) from a dig they get like a quick car jump but the torque instantly makes up for it. I raced my buddies 00 z three times from a dig the first one was with him by himself in the car and i had myself and 2 passengers and i got him by a 1 1/2 cars. last 2 it was just him and i and I think the closest he got to me was like 4 cars ( he has m6 i got a4) then we did 1 highway roll from 60 -120 he got a good jump but i pulled him really really really hard at like 90 and ended up putting like 5 cars on him
