He said "we can line them up and find out"......My response was anytime your ready ....I guess he thought I would back down......I don't see him often (since my company is big) but I will make an effort to egg him on to run......

Any input would be apreciated
You'll eat him alive from a stop....................bad. I'm about 450-460 crank hp, weigh about 180lbs less than a GTO, and I still can't quite pull out a win on my brother's 07 C6. I can get him out of the hole.........but he glides by me by 65-80. Your power to weight advantage is just too great.

Actually, the F-Body's make about 320hp, while the 04 GTO makes 350hp. The F-Body weighs a tiny bit less though. There are bone stock WS6's/SS's running 12.8's, no bs. But then again, there are people in new Mustang GT's, GTO's, F-Body's that can't get below 14 seconds in the 1/4... all depends on the driver.

I think it would be a bad move right now to start another GTO thread,so I will ask now on here. A co-worker of mine has a 2006 GTO. He says with catback,x-pipe, and tune he's putting around 450 at the crank......I did'nt think it was possible to gain that much with those minor mods.....Since he has'nt had the car dynoed I'll take it with a grain of salt.....He goes on to say that since his is a six speed manual and mine is a six speed auto that I will dyno less. Yes I know thats true , but what is it ? Maybe 10rwhp less? Fact of the matter is , he is stating he would run me signal light to signal light....What final gear ratio do the M6 GTO's come with stock? I know my A6 has a very shallow 2.56 which is great for top end but "eh" for short dig runs.....I told him that those skinnys on his car can have traction problems, but he mentioned he upgraded his tires to 9.5 inch wide 285's, which by the way are still street tires...

LSX motors adapt well to headers and tunes (even though you didn't mention headers). A 2004 GTO with long tube headers and a tune will be dead even with a stock 2005/06 6.0 GTO horsepower wise.

Oh, and I think the C6 would win slightly with the 6.0 GTO just having the cat-back, x-pipe and tune. It may be close, but I think the Goat's losing.

Umm wrong! You even used "Actually," [sm=icon_rofl.gif]

School is in session, I'll teach.

The LS1 found in the C5 Corvette, Z28, SS, Trans am, WS6 and 04GTO allmake the same Hp. (350) No engine is better than the other. I repeat, besides cosmetic differences that are specific to each LS1 in the aforementioned vehicles, they all make the same HP.

Okay, class dismissed. Make sure you read the first chapter of "LS1, how GM tried to fool us"

A 04 GTO would need a CAI, headers, cat-back and a good tune to keep up with a 05-06

Sorry bud, but no. The earlier (I believe 98-99) Corvettes had 345hp, then around 2000 had 350hp. The F-Body Z28/Trans Am's had 320. The SS/WS6 had supposedly 325. Get your facts straight.

You better be glad some of the otherLS1 guys are not here...allow me to get you facts straight. The 97-00 Corvettes supposedly had 345hp. In 2001, the Z06/LS6 intake manifold was added to give the LS1 350Hp. I don't need to look on the Internet t get my numbers...most of the cars that you mentioned, I have owned. C5,Z28,SS,WS6 and yes even your slowest of them all goat, all have the same LS1. Neither one was truly detuned to alter is peak HP.

Pleeeeeeeeeease tell me your kidding[&:], like Rog stated above no LS1 engine is better than the other (01-02 F-Bodies did come with the LS6 Manifold however same for the 04 GTO). Get your facts straight next time before making an a$$ out of yourself...
