What's amazing is that you guys see this...yet you still think the GT500 should win.

So your cars an 11 second ride? Flat out walking a shelby is quite a feat.
HAHA....on motor alone it's a low 11 ride....

I actually know this douchebag...[8D] He lives near me. I believe he went 7.3x or so in the 1/8th last time out, on motor. And it was his first track trip with the car, as far as I know. I'm sure he'll comment.

Guess i'm not a great big GM fan boy. I'd have to see it to believe it. Most of the10 &11 second Camaro's & T/A's I've seen were spraying.

Then the people around you don't really know how to mod them or are just doing some bolt ons and putting a decent shot on them. I run consistant 11.8's with basic bolt ons, a big converter and a cam swap. Thats still on a 17 drag radial and with an OD trans and a 3.42 gear...oh yea full weight also. Most of my friends with these cars also run in the mid 11's with similar mods. On a 150 shot I would think the car would go mid 10's, but right now I am going another route and will stay all motor for one more season, due to a class I want to race.

Maybe you GM guys can help me out because the numbers still don't ad up to me. The last year of production for Camaros and T/A's had 325 Hp and ran the quarter in 13.5(Says motor trend) they also weighed 3550. Now you say the usual bolt ons get you in the 11's? A cam change is good for 40 or 50 hp and heads maybe another 50hp.(neither of these upgrades are easy bolt ons)To run 11.8 in a 3550 pound car you'll need 535 crank hp. By way of comparsion a 3200 poundZ06 Corvettewith a hand built 427 small block thats makeing an underated505Crank hp. and runs high 11's low 12's! A GTO has 400 hp and runs the quarter in low to mid 13's. (I know they outweigh a camaro by 300 pounds) Now you can strip a Camaro to the bone and get it to weigh as much as a Corvette. You can slap on a set of slicks for traction. But nobody drives around on the highwaylike this on a daily basic I hope??? The original thread sounds like a highway run. Now to totally walk away from a GT500 your going to need 550Hp or more. How are you guys doing this on just motor??? Im not calling bull sh*t because I have seen 11 second Camaros but they had power adders. Whats your guys secret???

And after you clear this up for me we can talk about the legend of the 12 second stock LS1's you always hear about.

I really have to wonder if some of these people have ever been in an 11 second car.
