Yea, the guy came in talking about how he beat a few 3V GT's with his CAI/tune Eclipse GT. I won't sit here and call BS.....cuz I know firsthand some of thetotal losersthey have riding around in S197's right now. But half a decent driver in a 3V GT shouldn't have their hands full with a light bolt-on Eclipse.
I mean honestly, how hard is it to get the car lined up on a road and mash the pedal to the floor?

i live in cottage grove, for whoever asked. i will not be at UNI this summer just got work im getting deployed in JUNE.as for as TC and SC they make a stage one SC on a stoke eclipse GT with 6lbs of boost is pushing 390HP, a greddy turbo is in the works but from sounds of it we are looking at about $9,500 for the kit with the SC being 4,100. and i forgot to add that when i ran the 13.8 i was on 110 oct fuel about 2gallons of 92 oct and 2gallons of the 110. i dont know what that dudes deal was that i had 2-3 cars on but he was an older guy (50's) not saying that is old. i would ask you guys if you want to know more check out Club4Geclipse .com ....
one thing i do find kinda funny is the guys that buy sports cars import or amarican for buy a car for 26k or 27k (stangs) and think they are so cool for beating a 19-22k dollar car (eclipse) i would hope so. i got beat buy a stock audi A4 buy a bout 3/4 to 1 car lenght and he thought he was so cool. i have also been beat by 89 civic rusty but total sleeper. come to find out he is running 550HP. hope this helps you guys if you have anymore questions feel free to ask

Fortunately, the newer Eclipses around here seem to be owned by more level headed ppl........as I have never seen any acting like fools or any that have been pimped out hideously.If there are any seriously modded ones around, they haven't shown themselves around me yet.
there are not to many heavy modded ones out there because there is still not too much stuff out for the car,with the new motor and all, the only ones out there that are modded are the company cars, (WORKS, GREDDY, HKS,and GT PRO). and those are mostly prototype parts. for the most part the only engine mods out are cai, exhaust, pullys, headers just came out, and suspention. and all the parts are F ing spendy coated headers are like 1,500. oh they make a LSD also. but for the most part you will see body kits. Me on the other hand i am trying more for the show not so much go portion of it. yes i will add a SC or maybe a turbo within the next few years.

my mom just bought a new Eclipse GT M6 on saturday. I'm not gonna lie, it is pretty quick (i chirped the tires in 2nd gear), but it cant hold a candle to my GT. Now, in all honesty, i still think it would take quite a bit of aftermarkets to compete with even a stock GT
not saying that you are full of sh*t, but i think it would take a whole lot more than an intake and exhaust to beat a GT by 2-3 car lengths...

Yes, but what about drivetrain loss? They should both put down similar hp numbers to the ground (with the edge to the stang, of course)

Yes, but what about drivetrain loss? They should both put down similar hp numbers to the ground (with the edge to the stang, of course)
I'm gonna step out of a limb here, and say those eclipses are easy even for a stock New Edge.
