I ran a SS LS1 Camaro a week ago with my 05 GT 5 speed. I had at the time, tune, CAI, TB space, BMR LCA's and Relocation brackets. I smacked the hell out him off the line and pulled him through 1st and 2nd, then HP took over and he drove around me on the top of 3rd gear. So the battle can be won, but it's an uphill fight. Next time I see him I'm gonna smack the sh*t out of him though. The car is much much quicker now thanks to a 4.30 gear.

^^ Yes they will cup if they are under inflated. There are many ways to find the best "meat on the ground" for your tire size, car weight, blah blah but thats another post. THE CORRECT lowered pressure on the street does work. Ive been drag racing since I was 17. Im 36. It works. End of story. Letting to much out, you get reall bad traction. To much same thing. Low pressure, to low of a pressure, as I said earlier, is very dangerous.
