haha you won't get many miles out of those tires if your going to the track on a regular basis and daily driving as well. My BFG drag radials lasted 5,000 miles with 20 passes on em and an occasional street burnout. The M/T wear just as fast if not faster. Also I don't think you will get the same results with your 40 series tire as some are getting with there 275/60 series tires. Since they have more sidewall and contact patch. Only time will tell I guess.

They some good tires !! They dont last long and the Rocks cut them up kinda easy so watch the burn outs on the street. I could only get 1.9 60 fts out of mine but i could never get them Hot Enough either so most my fault cause i need a line Lock. Where do you live again MD? is the track still open there? I really need to run my car soon. Getting the itch for street racing grrrr need track soon.HEHE

yea my track is open year around. since I have to wait another couple weeks for the tires to become available Im tossing around the idea of getting 275 Nitto's and getting e.t drags - not sure now

MD, remember, it all comes back to old school...the taller the tire, the lower the 60' but you'll lose trap speed and e.t. it's very hard to find that happy medium without 4 or 5 sets of tires to test. On my Impala SS, i tested my stock size 255/50-17 vs. my 275/40-17.
255's cut 1.8 60' and 275's cut 2.0 but was 2 mph higher trap. Both tires were Falken ZE512's (new). That was just for fun cause I got the tires for free and figured what the hell!!

That would be the smart choice. You'll love the slicks.

Edit: 26X10 ET Drags. 15" Weld. Seems to work pretty well.

This is definitely not true! The only way it would affect mph is if your changing the over all diameter of tire. If you have a 26" tall 60 series and a 26" tall 40 series. the 60 series will 60ft better (which means ET better) and also keep the same mph. Those 2 tires you tested are over a 1.5" different. Not apple to apple comparison. that 275/40 is only 25.5" tall so you got more rpm out of those tires which is why it mph better.
