GTO
Yeah, the math doesn't add up, but I've never seen one run anything that starts with a 13. And most of the magazines could only muster a 14.1-14.3 out of them. Not that it means anything. We all know they can't drive.
one thing that you can ask yourself... would GM really have relased the GTO if it could not even beat 1 year old LT1's? Nope. they would have haled onto it untill it was where they wanted it. They are not just going to say oh well and let it go. It would have pissed off a ton of people. I would like to get my hands on a stock one and see what I could do. I would like to see first hand how they launch. They should be running with LS1 fbodys but maybe GM should have let us know what the secret to launching the thing is..
Either way they are still ugly as sin.

They do give a ****.. Just like when they threw the truck cam in the 01-02 fbodys cause they were worried about them overtaking the vette. They care about what they run. If they had released them knwoing that they were going to consistently run the 14's they would have pissed off many an owner how belives that they should at least be in the mid 13's. Cause they should. Look at the power and weight. They should be running with the fbodys.
Like I said I would like to drive one so that I can feel for myself. It's hard to sit here on the net and guess what they feel like. Best I have seen in person stock is a 13.6.. not bad, but not really what they should be. even before they were really out there all you heard about was problems launching..

lol GM doesn't care is right! Gm cares?! If GM cared then they wouldn't have killed the Fbody. They killed the F body because it didn't sell like the mustang, it couldn't compete. GM makes junk now. They care about no one other then there SUV's and trucks and colbalt.
if gm cared they would still be making the camaro.....I'm sure alot of die hart owner will be gome forever..like me...as for the truck cam....is was for low end torque at a lose of upper end ..most people just change it our for the 534 cam
What are they suposed to do? continue making a car that will lose them money??
besides the camaro will be back in 07 anyway..
and all they make is junk now?
here is a hint.. your not suposed to be buying saturns..

GM High Tech performance took a stock '04 GTO to the track and made several runs with it, adjusting little things like tire pressure, timing (with a laptop), etc. They got a 13.40 out of it. Not too shabby.
Motor Trend just drove an '05 to a 13.3 in a camparison test with an '05 Mustang. The Mustang ran 13.8. [/magazine racing]

ya why was the Camaro losing money? no one wanted it lol.
and yes GM would release the GTO early because they were selling an OLD name "GTO" they thought everyone would flock to these cars and buy them all up. The fact is they can barely sell any of them just like the Camaro. The GTO fad lasted about a month. More people were pissed off with the fact they put the GTO name on that ugly pile of cavlier crap then what times it ran in the 1/4 mile.
