for the same price ive put in my car (and at the time a lot less) a gt is about a 150hp and 200tq downgrade.

and before u jump on that, i have a 2003 cobra stock thatd eat u alive too.

and yes plenty of gt owners will kill me. hell i saw a civic go 10.8 and an eclipse go 10.7 in the same night.

you only have as much money in your car as a new GT would cost?

 

why does everyone bash the V6? some of the 05-07 v6s are making more hp then the new gt500 and aren't paying anywhere near as much for their upgrades as they would for a GT or GT500... by the way you should dominate that eclipse. i have seen that race and the eclipse wasn't close at all

 

i really have to question that any of the V6s that are making huge power (and ive seen some of them in person) havent spent more than the cost of a new GT...especially considering that the V6 isnt all that much cheaper than the GT.

also, while the 4.0L engine is always working to prove itself, people should keep in mind that "making more power than a GT500" is very respectable, but that V6 is being stretched to make that power, where as the GT500 is making it very easily. longevity should be considered to some extent, and i would guess that a 500hp GT500 is going to last longer and be less problematic than a V6 making 500hp.


but stock GT owners who make the comment "why didnt you just buy a GT to go fast", to V6 drivers who are in the deep 12s, should understand that they sound dumb.

 

I understand where the GT owners are coming from with that type of comment. If you have your heart set on modding a carthe V8 car is a far better jumping off point than the6 cylinder. In the long run you'll be able to make more power with better reliability. But to each there own. a 12 second 6 cylinder is pretty cool in my book!

 

Hey! I've been in this position lol... I had a 5 spd 91 Eclipse GS, my g/f had a little 4 cylinder sunfire auto. I could beat her by about a car length nothing to brag about but I still won! Well she goes out and buys a 2002 Pontiac Firebird auto. She gave me so much **** about how her car was faster then mine. Eventually we raced and needless to say she beat the s--- out of my little 4 banger. THEN, 2 months later I go out and buy my 5.0, she quit talking about her car after we raced and just pulled my pants back up

 

ive gotten the chrysler equal of the eclipse gs into the 14s...with the aid of a little gas.
