you guys are acting like an ls1 fbody could make it to the moon at half-throttle. It's a mid 13-second car, no different than the s197...it's also at a weight disadvantage and falling apart because it's at least 5 years old (02 was last year) and gm didn't make these cars to last much more than that. My s197 just pwned an ls1 vette, never mind an ls1 in a heavier car with a hoppity-hopitty solid rear axle making things worse...

Somes197's get 310rwhp with just intake/tune, pulleys and full exhaust. Dyno numbers vary to much to even bother with, better to test it at the track.

yea the s197 respond to mods alot better.A full bolt on s197 can almost have the same power as mine i think or unless that what i have read any ways (310rwhp)

My car has 128,000 miles and runs better than when it was new. The time in my sig was run 2 months ago with 126k on the clock. It would leave your '07 behind. No lie.

lol you must beat the crap out of your vehicles to think that. my dads '69 mach is all original still except for the motor. that's what, 38yrs old? so i guess in your eyes really it should only be the frame left...

yes but has it been driven as intended, or babied? Anway, here's my cockamamie rationale for the 5 years rule: America is a capitalist country...capitalism works well as long as people keep throwing their money back into the system. A savings account is capitalism's worst nightmare...so is a well built car. If your American car lasted forever you'd never come back for a new one, and if you haven't figured out by now that an Accord or Camry will go a miilion miles on only oil changes, you're never going to figure it out so the idea of losing you to a japanese manufacturer is pretty much nonexistent. Anyway I'm getting off topic; I assume the Mach One has not been romped on much? Then again that was back before cars were made out of mostly recycled plastic ("back when they knew how to make em"). Is it like it Ferris Bueller's Day Off: "he doesn't drive it, he just rubs it with a diaper..."?
If you're wondering why I don't have an accord/camry if I'm so big on their quality, it's because I had a reliable civic that would've lasted 20 years and decided to trade it for the mustang. Basically I ditched my faithful reliable semi-attractive housewife for the slutty coked-up stripper that's just gonna hurt me...that's just the way I roll...
