thanks for the support and honesty...at least there are some people left with the ***** and impartiality to tell it like it is...
Anybody else catch the irony here?[sm=smiley36.gif]But seriously I am thinking of switching to a mustang after reading this thread.
ok, ok do you really need to point that out? Oh and I think you should go for the mustang.

03/04 Cobra > LS2 GTO > LS1 Camaro/TA = 03/04 Mach 1 > S197 > LS1 GTO > LT1 Camaro/TA > 99-04 GT > SRT-4
Haha...just thought I would chime in...

Also FWIW the company I used to work for out of Janesville, WI drove Yota products from 0 miles until they disposed of them 200,000+... each vehicle had a few hundred miles put on a day (long drive between offices)....

Ever been in a 10+ year old Camry??? I was NEVERas thrilled getting back into my junk domestic car as I was after getting out of those cars... People can claim the import cars are better built but don't be fooled... no one makes a car intending for them to last forever... it would be suicide to their ownindustry.

you do realize you just started world war three right?
they can just go over to some GM LS1 forum and talk all the trash they want to.
the way I see is that a Mustang guy asked a question (the OP). He got some answers and they are a few of you guys that don't the answers and think you know more than the guys who own and work on these cars everyday. The simple fact is that LS1's tend to be a few clicks faster than S197's and are mid to low 13 cars on average. Why is it so hard for some you guys to admit that there are faster cars out there? It happens...get over it.

x2! Good post man. I have a friend that has a WS6, it sounds awesome and is dangerous on the highway. Now, are they god? No, but that's the first thing other owners yell when people talk about the LS1. It's a good engine. The best? No, but strong, and that's not something that can be denied.

Remember this...no matter what you drive or what's under the hood two things are true:
1. You never know what the other guys got
2. There is always someone faster

I AM driving American, did you read my whole post incl. the housewife/stripper analogy? I love the American v8 and it's all I've ever wanted since I was about 15... I still say the quality of the imports is superior, but I'll be driving an American V8 long till the day I die (in one), like I said I prefer power and excitement to boring reliability. BTW even driving at 1500 rpms in sixth with a 2.73 gear with the air off on the highway never hitting the brakes, 28 still seems high for a TA, but you have no reason to lie..anyway, how often do you drive your car in the aforementioned manner?

28mpg under old standards and 26mpg under the new standard...

My G6 was only rated at 26mpg yet I managed to get this after an hour trip on the interstate. EPA Estimates are not absolutes.
Thats great Honestly why are you guys arguing about gas milage? who the hell cares? If youcan't afford to play, then go buy a 4 banger econo vehicle. I rarely get good gas milage cause I like to stomp on it, thats why I bought the car. I'm guessing when I put the supercharger in, the gas milage is gonna go down even more, but again I don't care.

Your mom should have held her water....
No, I didn't say it was too high. I also didn't mean to direct that comment just at you either. I just can't imagine why the **** anyone cares what gas milage a sports car gets.

When people start talking about gas mileage and reliability, the thread needs to die.
