yeah all my cars got is slp exhaust, and 3.73 gears and damn, i wanna test drive the new GTsand feel how much mroe kick it has,
Yeah, I love my 01 GT, but my 05 is soo much more badass. Stock the average times for both are 14.2-14.3 for the pi 2v, and 13.6-13.7 for the 3v. And I'm sure my 01 GT being an auto didnt help its credibility at all, but I wouldnt mind throwing onto the 2v some Nittos, 4.10 gears and an intercooled KB, and that wouldbe it.

So the other night after work a buddy of mine came to show me his EVO IX, he even let me drive it which was pretty cool. Nice car! I usually NEVER race on the streets. But I really havewanted to race an EVO forever and have somehow have never gotten matched up withone at the track. So I decided to race him from a roll getting onto the freeway (I'm such a hypocrite!). We went from 50ish to 95ish and I had about 1/2 to 3/4 cars on him and was pulling so I shut down. From adig it could have been much different I'm thinking.

The guy was a pretty new driver so maybe that may have helped me beat him, but I am still not too proud of it because I like to race from a dig at the track. That's the only for sure way to know IMO.

I thought EVO IV's were faster than that? Feedback anybody?

PS. He said he had a racing clutch and a lightweight flywheel.

With an 8.7 @ 83mph in the 1/8th (granted poor conditions..but that's what I ran) I was able to take out an Evo IV from 60mph up to 150mph when I let off....that thingwas packing cams, exhaust and intake, I was stock. (I honestly believe he said he was untuned but I can't verify that as we were talking at 60mph and his car was kind of loud. I know it wasn't me making the noise. ) He was VERY shocked and I was too considering his mods.... from a dig that thing would have killed me easily.

I would skip all three of those and get 4.10 gears installed. you will no longer be trying to get into the power band, you'll always be in it. First time I drove my car after the gears were installed I though the clutch was slipping because the rpms went up that much faster. Maybe keep the UDP's, but definately ditch the pump and delete plates in favor of the gears. I lost 1 mpg with 4.10's.

I will just have to race him again when he learns how to drive it actually! But hopefully I should soon have some CMDP's, electric h20 pump and some UDP's.

His car had what I think is called a "two step rev limiter"? I am not sure what it is called but when you're stopped and the car is in 1st with the clutch in and you rev it, it just bounces between 5k and 7k. That should help him launch the sh*t out of his car, no? Is that even the ideal launch rpm for the EVO's?

How was traction with 4.10's?
