those turbo diesels can run mid 12's all day long. They are fast as hell for such huge trucks. Just imagine putting one of those engines in an S197. That would be intersting.
I'm dieing for Ford to put something like a 7.0 Liter corvette engine in a S197, that'd be sick.
Why?? Ford has S/C - FI... they wont develope something else when they can just slap a blower on and call it quits... *cough* terminator *cough*

[sm=funnypostabove.gif] that was great S8. True, I just meant it would be intersting. Plus it is a diesel, hence they practically last forever.

You do realize that those 5.9L weight close to 1000lbs and redline at something crazy low like 3500 or 4000rpm. Not exactly ideal for a sports car.

Lets just say it can't be done.

Seriously? [:-]
Well, guess thats true for a vehicle that was designed for towing crap, not racing.
2800 lbs vs. 6000+ lbs.
Aerodynamic vs. Box
Naturally Aspirated vs. Blown
4.6l vs. 5.9l

This will be a fun race[8D]

Yeah, it was a 2007 5.7l 1500 Hemi, and it didn't stand up at all. Keep in mind the thing was basically new(4000 miles), engine wasn't even broken in.
I hear that they can be pretty mean though.

It's true diesel trucks will redline a lot lower, but thats because they don't have to rev any higher. Them shifting at 3,500 rpms is like you shifting at 6k, thats where the power is.
