Well, first, just to clarify 1 thing, if a cop revs at you and guns it from a light and tries to race you, and you race him, he can't write you a ticket. And if he does it'd never be able to stand up in court, it's called entrapment. The US Supreme Court has ruled numerous times that entarpment by law enforcement against the general population is a violation of their rights. Basically the police can't entice you into breaking the law and then write you a ticket or arrest you when you do, since they're creating an atmosphere to make you believe it's ok for you to violate the law. The exceptions of course, are sting operations where the police work under cover and you don't know they're cops, and you're breaking the law because you choose to and not because a cop made you think it's ok. That's also why in vice stings, the undercover female cops MUST let the johns solicit them, they can't say anything overtly sexual, only appear to be prostitutes
That being said, I woulda run him and made sure I beat him hard enough for him to know he was wooped
, but would shut down pretty quick, like not even to the top of 2nd. Remember, cops are people too

One was an undercover with grocery bags on the backseats of his mercedez, yes, a benz. he was pushing on a friend of mine who has a moddedevo viii. my friend punched it and he pulled next to him showing his badge telling him to pull over. he claimed he had seen my friends car hauling *** on the highway and that he wanted to pull him over ever since. my friend replied with the usual "how do i know you're a cop?" "i wasnt racing till you annoyed my ***" and then applied the "ima tell teh department you are illegally street racing with YOUR car" technique...pointing out the cameras at the interception. cop told him to fck off and left. pretty hilarious.

I've raced LAPD squad cars twice. Both times they provoked. On the first occasion, he rolled down the window, asked how much my car was lowered, put it in neutral, revved twice, said "let's go", and gave it a nice healthy chirp off the line when the light turned green.

If I were a cop I'd be racing tool ricers all the time. I'd win almost every time(though if you lose to a fast import it's technically not rice) and not have to worry about getting a ticket Then you can sit there in your uniform and trash talk them about how they got whooped by a old person's 4 door sedan with an extra 500lbs of crap in it
