embarrass him? you have a V6, and he has a turbo talon. you are not going to embarrass him...

the best part is, it already has a turbo, so you dont know what the hell hes running. sell your v6 and get a foxy and work on it, or get a used mach 1 or something. [8D]

also.. if you look at the first run closely he was absolutely covering me in smoke out of his exhaustbetween his shifts, def not a nicely setup car

Eagle Talons are the Forest Gumps of the auto world. They are like a box of choclates, you just never know what you are going to get. I saw one last night at Milan in Detroit run 9.08. I've also seen them run high 15s.

Lol, never heard that one, but I'll agree, it could be fast or a flat-out dog. Seeing that he revs at everything, I bet he's not out of the 14's yet.

The only problem with them is that its not a question of IF they are going to grenade the clutch, but WHEN

shep ran high7s with street tires...and im pretty sure that last year he got into the deep 7s with slicks. its sick.
im only running stock boost, with the stock boost restrictor...so around 10psi with the full exhaust, but ive been told that removing the restrictor will give me another pound or so...and the 1g will handle 14psi at the manifold with no other upgrades, and 14-15 is around the max for the stock turbo..some guys are running it higher, but it will only spike higher, and flatten out to around 15psi.

The 1g turbo is the 14b and it is capable of pushing around 20lbs of usable boost. If you upgrade the stock fuel pump on the 1g, you can easily run 17-18psi with no problems. A 1g with downpipe, full exhaust, intake, fuel pump, and boost controller can easily see mid to low 13's with a good aggressive driver. 2g's on the other hand used the T25 turbo which is much smaller then the 14b. 14b is actually a common cheap upgrade for the 2g's. A 2g with the same bolt ons as the 1g using the stock turbo usually sees low 14's, high 13's.
To the original poster, if you can hear his turbo, he's not stock. Completely stock DSM's were relatively quiet. Once you get a intake on them, they speak up more. If he is AWD and very mildly modded, your only chance is to race from a roll. The AWD's will destroy lots of things out of the hole, but they loose quite a bit of their power through the drivetrain. If he is FWD, I'd try and do the exact opposite and go from a dig and try to edge him out with a good launch from the RWD. These cars are light and stock have comparable HP to your own.
