Vs. Trans Am
I have never had a problem with any either. I just don't think that they like to admit it. only ones that were ever close were the 99+. but even they would fall during a high RPM run. closest run I have had at the track was with a highly modded 5.0 fox body. He ran a 14.2 to my 13.8. He had gears, clutch, heads, cam, intake and full exhaust and bolt ons...
I still haven't run against a Mach 1 but I really want to, it should be a good race seeing as how they are the closet competition for the LS1 fbodies. I've only raced GT's (beat every one), a NA Cobra (edged him) and SC Cobras (got smoked
).
).
same here.. I tried SOOO hard to get a mach 1 to run me but I just couldn't get him to go. I think I reved at him a little too hard and scared him. There is one that runs at the track but on slicks and skinys he runs mid 12's..

Exactly... Like the saying goes. What does a 500hp supra, a 700HP supra and a 1000HP supra all have in common? They all run 13's.

1000 hp Lingenfelter Vettes are hitting 8's.

I think he was referring to real hp numbers, not the fake imaginary ones GM uses. [8D]

93-97 was the LT1s. I think in the 93-94 they had 275hp and 95-97 had 285hp. Someone correct me if im wrong. 98-02 LS1 had 290-300+rwhp. I dont know what the LT1 rwhp.

It sounds like you ran into and LT1 powered car, good job beating him. From my experance ( I might have done alittle street racing back in the day) on the street it don't matter what the car runs at the track, there are too many varibles. With the torque the LT1 makes the launch is everything. The outcome may have been different if it was and LS1 car, hell my 01 SS has barley been farted on and runs 12's.
