I've managed to consistently spank my buddy's LS1 GTO. I'm in the 12.9s, and his best is in the high 13s. Never raced an LS2, but I know they're a hell of a lot faster than the LS1s.
LS1s have tagged low low 13s stock and LS2s have gone high 12s stock...honestly theres about half a second spread at most and ~3mph trap difference...but a great driver can still pilot an LS1 GTO sub 13.5 @ 105+ MPH.

Since nobody else asked, was it a 5.7 or 6.0? Was it an automatic or standard?

If it was a LS2 GTO with bolt-ons that car should be running mid 12's with a good launch.....The OP's GT should be amid/high 12 tops!!!! Now I can see the OP winning provided there is no spinning, but saying that he spun through second and still managed to win tells me either the GTO is in need of a tune up, or the Goat driver needs lessons..
I think 90% of the goat drivers out ther need lessons. The Gto owners that I talk to say there as hard as a front driver to launch![8D]
This is True, I raced one at the track and he had Drag Bags..

umm... not to be rude... but when did Mustang Forums get invaded by Brand-X cars? I'm just a little confused... Guess when I went to the desert...
It's a lot better this way. This forum was full of ignorance a few years ago.

nice kill, but as many have said, must not have been the best driver...

also, this is my first time to the mustang forums, nice to see some decent ppl in here that have an open mind and dont just defend their beloved mustangs. I highly respect them, but just prefer GM.
