umm... not to be rude... but when did Mustang Forums get invaded by Brand-X cars? I'm just a little confused... Guess when I went to the desert...

But yeah, good kill! I've got a buddy with a 5.7L A4 (or A5?), and he was all up in arms that his suspension was just fine, he just needed a tire... HCI, full exhaust... Perfect example of the 'n00b' drivers, I guess. think his best was a 13.3.

This forumwas neverintended as a privateforum exclusive to Mustang owners. I'm glad they are here, about the only way you're gonna make sure you get an unbiased opinion.

I don't think it was a "noob" driver because you say he has a Auto gto, but you're only claiming h/c/i and full exhaust that right there should put him in the 11's not to mention you said he was an auto which means he IS going to have to have a aftermarket converter with that setup depending on cam size, how well the heads flow, which intake he has, how big his converter is and what tire he is running that is a EASY low 11second car.

Either A. he isn't a noob driver and just really really sucks, B. didn't have a good traction, or C. is on the stock converter.

Since nobody else asked, was it a 5.7 or 6.0? Was it an automatic or standard?

If it was a LS2 GTO with bolt-ons that car should be running mid 12's with a good launch.....The OP's GT should be amid/high 12 tops!!!! Now I can see the OP winning provided there is no spinning, but saying that he spun through second and still managed to win tells me either the GTO is in need of a tune up, or the Goat driver needs lessons..
I think 90% of the goat drivers out ther need lessons. The Gto owners that I talk to say there as hard as a front driver to launch![8D]
This is True, I raced one at the track and he had Drag Bags..
Here is the Video 2005 Mustang GT vs 2006 GTO

This maybe way off subject, but figured I would ask while there were some GTO guys floating around. Do the GTO trannys hold up better tostalls and shift pressure better than the 4l60 in the Z28s did? -I heard they sucked just as bad, that's what kept me from ever getting a stall on my 04.

My friend's running an 06 M6 13.40 and cutting 2.0-2.1 60' all day long trapping 107.
Also I saw an 06 Auto with a Tune running 12.9?-13.10's also.
