I like beating expensive cars with a cheap one too.. 11.7@115 for a grand total of $5000 including car purchase, tires, and insurance for a couple years. Engine lasted for 7 years, ran hard the whole time, never slower than 12's and just kept gettin faster... Vipers were fun to embarass... real fun. some bikes too...

 

i'm sure he bought it brand new awhile back.

 

Here is your answer to that question about the power gains. This chart is of a 2003 Mach1...it isnt mine...this was done by the guyz out at bassani and was sent to my e-mail. This is with the same set up as mine.

Thats about 285 hp. Not bad at all.

 

I was looking up the C3s (the ones from the late 70s) and discovered that they only had 190 hp from the factory. In 1984 for the C4 i beileve they bumped it up to 225 Hp.

 

yeah, they had a mach1 get dyno'd when i got mine done. it put down 285. it made me sad when my car only put down 240. [:@]

 

How much tq tho, you gotta remember mach1 motors are built for torque.

 

You got that right, jesus ive never driven such a torquey car in my life!! But im not too sure what the torque is but with 285 down that gives you about 335 at the flywheel b/c i think w/ a 5 speed you loose like 15%. Oh yea, and you also asked about the sound change. It made it sound like there is a whole lote more done to the car than just full exhaust. It sounds MEAN!!! I get nothing but compliments on it. One of my friends drives a Mach as well and he has Flowmasters and i drown him out big time. When you wind the car up to about 3 or 4 grand...it doesnt just have a deep rumble...it starts screaming at you like its angy and you and gonna kick your @$$!!

 

^^^ YUP! thats what i LOVE about my dads Cobra. Long tubes, BBK X-pipe, and Flowmaster '1' Chamber mufflers. lol. some guy at the track when i raced it, said. It sounds like its gonna transform into an animal and whoop the **** out of someone. lol. It was great. Down low it sounds deep and throaty. Then you get those RPM's racing and it sounds like it growls and its going to eat someone. lol. Well, maybe just an import and a LS1. lol..

There is a newer Vette. I dunno what year, but its the ones before the newer ones. But its maybe the first or second year of them. But anyways, the kid bought it and was running around town launching and doing burnouts(It was an auto). Made the other kids in town look like turtles. then my buddy bought a Mach 1 at my dealership, put MAF, K&N, underdrive pulleys, uppers and lower control arms, DR's, clutch, 4.30 gears. then he went out after everything was on trying to find him. By this time the kid had mellowed out and didnt drive like an idiot. But soon found out what its like to get beat by a Mach. lol. Wasnt by alot, but still caught an *** whopping.

 

What kind of times are you running with those mods? I've only raced one Mach 1 and that was right after I got my car. It was louder than my car at the time and it sounded great, it also really impressed me the with the way it ran.
