Well i did some estimations on it and with 285rwhp and a 15% loss that gives you about 335hp at the flywheel. That is about a 10% jump from stock so i did the same thing with the tq. and i got this: 335hp 355.5 tq w/ 3.55 rear axle ratios, wich prolly gives you 285rwhp and 319.6rwtq? Can we say HAUL @$$??? but that is only my estimations...everycar is different.

Eh...my car's slow as **** and makes more power. So I think "haul ***" is an overstatement.

I love when kids get new cars (Stock) and go on and on about how fast it is. You'll learn son...You'll learn.

Just try not to be so cocky when someone rolls up on you.

I wasn't going to say anything about that, because we all learn at one time or another.

That may be so, but i know who around here i can and cant beat. And when i go out to the local cruise spot...i cant probably beat 85% or more of those guyz out there...how do i know? because i have. but there are people who i know i cant beat. And im not cocky about my car. I just know who i can and cant beat. And i dont ever real remember saying that my car was all fast and couldnt beat. I said i was estimating. And im not cocky when someone rolls up on me. I have beaten most of the people around here that are willing to race me. Incuding Several ricers...2 Z28's...A few vettes and whole load of other mustangs so i have a reason to be confindent in my car. I dont just go on and on w/o being able to back it up. no my car isnt the fastest but it is still realy fast. So when someone "rolls up on me" i can usually have an idea of wether or not i cna run w/ it.

Mach1>>>C4 vette. Now the ls1...thats a challenge and if your on the freeway forget about it.
Run a '96 manual and tell me that. ; ) All '96 manuals, along with Grand Sport Vettes, have LT4s.

LT4 > Mach1... LT4s were underrated at 330 the factory because they make more power than a LS1 and GM didn't want the old car / motor to be rated the same as the new one. LT4s dynoed generally make 330-340 to the wheels. And its in a C4. Not all C4s are quite as easy to laugh off. ; )

The change, as said, was in '92. Pre92, the cars made 250 hp and 350lb/tq. They were great lowend cars, but the motor's intake system was build for the 305TPI as found in the V8 Camaros, and the intake held the car back a great deal. LT1s in '92 were rated at 300hp, and each year they got 5-10 more horse getting up to 330 until '96.

And I'm not trying to start a Vettes are Better than 'Stangs, but I gatta defend the C4s honor, ya know? ; ) Not to mention, blanket statements like Mach1s>C4s are rather narrow-minded. ; )

I'm just hear to learn about 'Stangs. As far as I'm concerned on the larger scale, we're all on the same side against imports, so. ; )

i had an 89 iroc w/ 350 tpi, and i read that the intake and heads were basically the worst ones chevy made. [:'(] sucked

This is true not many people know about the power of an LT4. It has the low end power of the LT1 with the redline of the LS1. Best of both worlds

01GTvertible - Unless I'm mistaken (and I don't think I am, I'm in the process of stripping a '87 Camaro), they ALWAYS used iorn heads on the 305 - 350 camaros until the body-style switch. That, and the intake, and the cars weight, made them a little slower.

Chris98Formula - LT4s are incredible motors. I wouldn't of minded dropping one into my Vette and starting there as a base. : )
