i have a lt1 with the lt4 hot cam kit and had a friend with a 96 m6. Ummm NO a mach1 with a good driver should run around any stock c4 all day long. a stock lt4 is not that fast, but if it has the hot cam kit yea 12's all day. I've seen stock mach1's go 13 teens allday long. Sometimes I wounder why people just don't learn how to drive before they start racing. To me if you have had a mach1 for atleast 4monthsyou should go 13.40 or better. Ive been to alot a vett days at 3different tracks and most stock lt4 will never go 13.00

My bro and my dad both had LT4 Vettes. They went 13.50 pretty consistantly. During a humid *** summer in Chicago.

Regardless, I don't think theres a whole lot left in them stock. Maybe a tenth or two. 13.0's are probably out of the question I would imagine.

The LT4 is no competition for an LS1. As I've said before, there's a guy in town, that now has the full swap, full bolt ons, M&H's, and a tune and he absolutely talks more **** than anyone on the planet. Ran my buddies EVO, which is all on tape, and got a few bus's put on him several times. Ran a headered/intake SS and also got hammered. I'd say at best that car is a 13.30 car.

They were awesome back in '96 I guess...

Eh, I was making conversation. I didn't even say you were cocky. I was just giving some information about C4s, because you seemed to lump them all into one catagory. It would be like me saying all 4.6L mustangs blow. Obviously, there are LOTS of different types of Mustangs, including the Cobras and Mach1s and everything else.

I didn't even get into 450hp/450tq Callaway TT Corvettes or ZR1s either. My comments were more to defend the era of car, not at all to imply you'd lost for any other reason than your car was faster than the C4 you raced.

And that LT4, assuming he how to select components in a system, should be closer to a flat 12 second car if not faster, provided a good driver. Hell, running an L98, I will be somewhere at or below 12.5 with only a heads / cam / intake / exhaust / tune package.

sidewayz4.6 - Bone stock, sure. With a tq, gears and tires, I've seen LT1s go 12.9s. If I can find that video again, I will.

procs2v - Well, again, bone stock, sure. 12.99 might be out of the question. But then again, I'd like to see Mach1s be bone stock and do it. It's pretty close both ways (IMO).

Again, I'm not trying to argue, just debate. : ) Drivetrain mods do wonders for the Vette, and I'm here to learn about what mods make big differences for the Mustang. : )

And I will say, after relooking at your mods, if the C4 wasn't modded that it would've been no contest. : ) Good kill. : )

Eh, the guy has a fully built car with an auto, shift kit, and stall. With the M&H's it'd be hard to mess up. It's a pig compared to the faster guys cars. He outruns a lot of guys around here, but when he runs any of us he doesn't have much of a chance.

LT1's are beast...I had one. They were so far ahead of their time it's not funny.

EXHAUST, to me makes to biggest difference in a stang's performance, but i guess that works for everything. gears would be a noticeable upgrade at the track too.

The LT4 is just a fatter cam / better headed LT1. Which is why I say, unless he messed up components (i.e. has headman headers or something like that), that car isn't running right. ; )

Exhaust, huh? I'm already seeing one of the first mods being cross pipes (x-pipe, y pipes, h-pipes) etc in everyones sig. Exhaust is usually a pretty big one for any car. What do stock Mustangs usually come with for gear? Probably a lot of different gear options, eh?
