4.0 vs rx8

ricer drivers love to claim rediculous stock times

lol how is an rx8 rice?
a civic with an ugly spoiler and big fat inefficient muffler is rice (seriously, learn your terms before you use them)
if you took a 4.0 and an rx8 to a real race course (a track with turns), then the mustang will be raped.

LMAO Yeah I agree with the handling needing to be upgraded a bit when they first get spit out of the factory.
I may be missing your point on this... However, you are still correct. Alot of people sometimes assume just a car by itself is "rice". It's usually the person that puts all the crap on it, throws stickers all over, knows very little about what he/she is doing and then runs their mouth like their exhaust all the while throwing outrageous numbers that their car can supposidly produce but they don't know how to drive worth a damn ------- who is (and the car) referred to as a ricer and rice rocket. Difference between good taste w/ know how and plain butt ugly 'rice' w/ alot of talk. You have to remember that it's the person that steams the rice, not the car...
Anyhow, I agree. It's probably going to come down to who's the better driver on the strip. Yeah, the mustang maybe has a torque advantage, but the weight may be the bigger concern. Looking at various websites, they are really close comparing average 1/4 mile time slips. Not a bad looking car either. I'm more curious to see how they'd pair up once they both get F/I.
Did you say you had a 5 speed manual or auto?
*EDIT* Heh... just noticed. Our Mustangs don't weight too much more than the rx8. I would have thought otherwise. It has 232hp (manual) and about 159trq. I think torque would most likely have it on the strip for this matchup.

Drivers race.
His lighter weight, more horsepower, higher redline, and better gearing makes up for your mods and better torque. He would have to be a really good driver to get the most out of his little torque off the line, you will jump out off the line.

Isn't it supposed to be 1/10th off your 1/4 mile time per 100lbs?
