GOT ME A HEMI!!

Those things are brutal at the pump. My parents have an Aspen (Chrysler version of Durango)with the Hemi and the best I've seen it do, on the highway, was around 17mpg. I think it usually gets around 11 or 12 in town.

Congrats on the Durango.
My sister and her husband own one, and you'll be glad to knowhave racked up over 100,000 miles on it, all absolutely trouble free. It's still tight as a drum and runs absolutley perfect.
I have to say I was impressed with it's room and quiet ride. The hemi is a nice motor andextremely reliable.
I'm not quite surefrom what perspectivethe "hemi is overrated" comments were made. All I can say every time I hit the load pedal on my 4200lb barge of an SRT8, I get a big grin. Really nice sounding engine and it packs an impressive punch despite being in such a heavy platform with 3.06 gears. Prior to the SRT8 we had the 5.7 R/T. Very nice car all around, great power for a family sedan, decent fuel mileage (18-19 mpg overall), nicely built (tight no rattles, etc).
To each their own. Good luck with the Durango, it should provide miles of smiles.
