built motor/heads/cams/boltons and either spray or boost.....

in my case its 10psi on twin screw happiness that leaves the LSx guys in the wake...that put me at 495rwhp

this spring im doing longtubes and 12psi....i really wanna be able to stomp some vettes....
at 495 WHP you better be taking anything but a C6 Z06, and even then if you have gear I would give you the race.

Seriously, why do people think it takes nitrous or FI to beat a stock LS1? if you can't outrun the stock/light bolton LS1 guys with boltons and gears (and d/rs) you need to learn how to row.
Really? Because a 100 shot and a cat back on my car wasnt enough to take an 02 SS 6spd with full exhaust and a tune. That SS went a best of 13.1 @ 109mph on a 2.0 60. Not many bolt on 2Vs running 13.1s, some, but not many, and if they do, they are not trapping 109. VIDEO

Soooo.....

exactly what does a full bolton/tuned LS1 have to do with a stock LS1????

And if you cannot run a 13.1 with a 100 shot and catback, your doing something wrong. Your looking at at least 325 WHP there... more than enough to dip into the 12s if you have some sticky tires and a decent launch (might take a gear to get the 60'... but still).

I was simply raping stock or light bolton LS1 cars from a dig most of the time with full boltons on drag radials (with a measly 3.73 gear). With the cams I could outrun anything but a Ws6 6speed/3.45 geared car, and even then i had em unless we were going from a high roll (say 60+ MPH).

Like i said, if you cannot beat a S T O C K ls1 with boltons only on a 2v you need to learn to drive, or at least get some decent tires.

There is no doubt that the LS1 is faster stock, and no doubt that it will be faster per bolton.

However, to think that you need FI/nitrous to beat a stock one is simply wrong. It can be done easily with the right setup and a decent driver at the helm of both cars.

True, i would take down any stock LS1 with that 100 shot, I was just simply showing that a full bolt on car would have its hands full on a full exhaust and tuned LS1 M6 car.

420-430 usually means at least a minor port job on LS1s. You can get over 400 with a ***** cam, but on the street that same cam will get beat on by smaller ones probably. Power under the curve...ya know?..
There is a guy local to me with an 01 SS, and he's putting down 436 with just a cam so he says, hmmmm............
to do that u need either a huge cam, a high reading dyno, or a shop owner who wants a rep for making fast cars . what are ur buddy's cam specs? cuz 436 is doable, but like i said, unless hes running something really big 400 is about right for a cam only car. most guys in 380-400 with full boltons and a good cam. hell, im running a 232/234 595/598 cam which some people consider to be pretty big (i dont however) and i dont plan to hit 400rwhp.

to SStompU, I think "the gang" he is referring to is the group of ls1 guys that lurk around here like sharks waiting to start a frenzy in any mustang vs ls1 thread

lizzyfan, how much power are u making?
