Wow, you beat a civic? That’s awesome...because... you know... that has so much to do with the thread and what the poster asked. Right?
But I’m game anyway, even if it is irrelevant to this thread.
Let’s analyze this statement though, shall we? Because something about it doesn’t seem right...
1. A B18C5R is a JDM (Japanese Domestic Market) DC2 Integra Type R engine. It makes 200BHP, and the transmission is very good for utilizing its power band.
2. A Honda Civic hatch back (depending on the year and model) weighs between 1900 and 2200lbs.
3. A late model (e.g. the heavier version) Civic hatch, with a properly installed B18C5 will be in the mid 13s on street tires and with a full interior.
Just for reference, my engine makes 170WHP. Given the standard 15% drive train loss for FWD cars, I’m making 200BHP. My car weighs 2650lbs without driver or gas, and I managed a 14.4@96MPH. As you can see, though, my car is a good amount heavier then any model hatch.
So basically you are telling me that with a stock automatic 99-04GT you have "no problem" beating cars modified as such? I highly doubt that. I’m not calling you a liar, but I think you are either mistaken as to what you raced or the guy with the car you raced was either a liar him self, or had very shotty quality work done on his swap. I mean even a bad driver should be able to manage mid to low 14s with that car under the worst dry conditions.
Just something to think about...
Oh and way to be subtle on your shot at me there. However, you seemed to have missed.

I had an auto '04 GT and I had no problem beating B-18 Honda's. Autotragic
can beat b-18s with very few mods. In fact I ran dead even with a Civic Hatch with a B-18 C5R when I was STOCK.

20" rims are heavy, add to unsrpung weight. What that means is, it is harder to turn them because they weigh so much more. They will slow down your acceleration and make stopping distances longer. Lighter wheels can be worth up to a second in the 1/4 over certain stock cast aluminum wheels. Sure they might look good, but they dont do much for performance. They arent hating on the rims, just informing you, ok?

He ran 14.3 at 96 so he was not going to get any better. I did not say that I beat him stock, I was even, when I was modded I beat him bad. I only responded because you ricers think that auto cars are sooo slow when in fact they are really not.

well if 20 inch rims make a car like one second slower then why did i bit a new 2006 or so civic si like nothing. from light to light i left him like for five cars. they run like 15s., smoked a nissan sentra seR and smoke honda preludes with h22s for like 8 cars.
