Default Newb - Launching * spinning tires

05 GT manual.

Do you hold the e-brake to launch?

Can you burn out staying in one place using ebrake? Doesn't it ruin your back brakes or is it only linked to the front brakes??

The E-brake controls the rear tires. You do not want to launch or try a burnout while holding the e-brake. Use the brake pedal and find the right amount of throttle to do a burnout. When you launch at a dragstrip, your car doesn't move at all if left in neutral, so no need to hold the e-brake.

First I would study up a bit about the car you're wanting to launch. All Mustang's have the e-brake connected to the rear wheels.
I wouldn't try launching any car until I had at least a basic knowledge of the car, or cars in general.

Give this a try.
