Ok I just got this info.
255-hp, and 217 lbs/ft of torque
plus a curb weight of around 2500-2600lbs. So I call bs on your kill. Seeing as how your mustang weighs about what 3300-3450lbs?? with more torque which shouldn't have come into play on a roll race. I think right around the same HP too. I just don't understand???

Mark
How would torque not help at any speed....? A new GT makes more power all the way across the board at any rpm...

I love when somebody with a big mouth says how fast "THEIR BUDDY'S CAR" is. I've told this before on here, but I had somebody once ask me in the staging lanes why I bought a Stang, everybody has a Stang. I proceeded to pass his 18 sec Honda 3 times in the 1/4 and had to ask him after what kind of gas mileage does he was getting.

Nice Work mate. Most of the D-bags in the world don't even have a vehicle worth writing home about. It's always that their a) Parents, b) Friend(s), or c) Uncle's ex-wife's former room-mate's dentist's recently hired assistant's son's friend... has a faster car than you.

but when did ford buy mazda???? was it after the rx7???
I dunno...
Doubt it...
The rx7 was last built in the late 90s right?
I'm pretty sure Ford's owned it longer than that....
To OP: Good kill...
I really like 7's but not douches that drive em and talk **** to mustang owners...
lol

FORD bought MAZDA in late 1989. The Ford Probe was the first Ford vehicle with a mazda engine when ford owned them if that makes any sense...lol Just because Ford bought them out, doesn't mean the Mazda engineers left. They still remained on Ford books.

The Ford Courier mini truck was made by Mazda from 1972 until 1982

I really don't see a stock 2v, pulling on a TT RX7 on topend at any time. My buddy's got an '04 GT 5speed with some bolt-ons and it has little, to no, topend. My LT1 has way more topend. And I'm willing to bet that an RX7's topend would completely kill mine. The RX7 and GT have similar 1/4 mile times. But, they make their power at different spots. The GT gets the lead down low because of it's torque and launchability. Then, the RX7 comes back to even it up in the topend. Racing from only topend, guess who has the advantage. There's no doubt in my mind, that a stock TT RX7 (the newer style) would completely slaughter a New Edge GT from a roll.

well to all of the unbelievers, u were not there. i have no reason to lie about this. like i said i thought i would be killed as well. i am not sure if he could not drive or if his car was a pos, it looked like it was in good shape. we went from 50 to about 100. i droped it in 2nd and killed his *** immediatly. i had him by at least 2.5 cars at the end. im tired of everyone speculating of what would happen when i just said what actually happened

Thank God...
[&:]
I don't really like the probe that much...
They are fun cars to drive. More so in the corner carving department though rather than straight line. They're awsome cars to take down some winding roads.

Definitely wouldn't replace the mustang with it though.

You can't ignore the power to weight ratio for one & for two you can't ignore the aerodynamics. The tt rx7 is better on both.

As far as the kill of a tt rx7. That's very possible that it happened for several reasons. Take my best friends '91 mustang GT for example. It accelerates about as fast as most 4 cylinder cars... It's 100% stock with a stock aod & stock gearing. Not to mention it looks like whoever owned the car before hasn't ever popped the hood. Valve cover gaskets were hard as rocks & oil was leaking all over the engine in various spots. Hope that paints a picture
They're not exactly monsters from the factory in any case though, but they're decently quick.
