Car and Driver does it again.
I think they could just note in their tests that "X car was easier to **** the **** out of on the road course" instead of just making the easiest car finish first. How many of the general public would ever get a chance to flog these cars out on the track? Knowing today's people, I doubt those that care much about cars would ever look at the performance data when they see which car placed first in a performance test (kind of like those who base their presidential candidate vote strictly off of what CNN/Fox news say).
who the hell cares, its just a damn magazine....I read the article yesterday too I found it interesting [8D]
Blue you need to calm down or you won't live past 30........oh yeah I forgot you passed that what 20 years ago
Every magazine out there right now seems to be jerking off to the gtr for some reason, regardless of how it performs
I guess its just because its the new fad right now

hhahahaaha, hey blue u send that **** magazine to my house i kinda wanna read it [sm=icon_rofl.gif], gotta love those magazines and their drivers. But didnt the GTR ran something like 11.8x at 117mph or so ???
I agree with you blue, all those magazines are full of it. I would never buy a GTR over those other cars, I don't care how many thousands cheaper it is. To me the GTR ain't no drivers car, not when you gotta use this complex launch control system, which probably wont last more than 20 hard launches, to compete with other sport cars, sorry I dont want any of it. I'm not hating on the GTR, its a great car, just not for me.
They are biased, they shouldn't even rate the cars. We see the stats, that's all we need. They can still give their opinion about how hard/softa car goes over speed bumps. I do like the 5 to 60 mph test, though. It shows a cars real world, non drag racing launch speed. You're not gonna drag-race-launch ever time your foot touches the gas pedal. Some cars (some turboed cars and cars lacking torque) have great 0 to 60 times, but their 5 to 60 time is almost 2 seconds slower (Evo, Wrx, S2000, etc).

So I should live to be 105! Heres another totally subjective ranking for those cars they totally forgot. The Viper ACR is simply the sexiest car. Period. The Vette runs a close second with the porsche a distand 3rd.And holy crap the GT-R looks like a cross between a Celica and an EVO.[:@]Well even C & D had to admit the car was ugly as spit.
I agree 100% with you bluebeast.. BS results.. if anything GTR could only get points based on how easy it is to drive. (Which many people would actually give it negative points on) Jay Leno does love his GTR though (or they let him borrow it, not sure which)
and on to my GTR guessing:
I figured their HP numbers were goofy for the performance specs they were claiming... 500awhp/tq? that sounds more like it. If you are able to boost it to the 600awhp/tq range what do you think that will do to the handling? for what that car has its probably setup as well as it can for a track course.. throw more hp at it if you want mostly straight line performance (I'm sure it'll still handle great in the twisties) but I'll bet running on a twistier road course you'll loose time. From what I've seen its all full of little electronic gizmos that wont work properly after boosting those hp #s
