Death from a C5 Corvette

That dyno is why he pulled like that, then stopped pulling.
He probably didn't start in the right gear because he assumed you wouldn't be a challenge. Then he gets into his power 'curve', and pulls like a freight train. Followed by short shifting back out of his 'curve', and the race ended.
Just a thought.

yea i just still dont get how the ls1 vette pulled so hard on me when stock ls1 trans am's and camaro's cant even pull on me. Maybe the other LS1's ive raced in the past were auto's or ****ty manual transmission drivers. Ive pulled on 2007 350Z's, stock ls1's, a stock STI, a stock 335i and a modded S197 GT. thought a near stock C5 vette wouldnt be much different...guess i was wrong

Roll races are all about trap speed. Stock LS1 cars usally trap in the 106 to 108 range. Very lightly modded STis (270HP) usally trap much less but run similar E/Ts because they have the advantage of an all wheel drive launch.

like i said i can beat my friends stock ls1 camaro and he never starts gaining on me even at 100+. However, i did have a 200 lb passenger while racing the vette and he was by himself and it was 88 degrees which kills my car. Is it possible he could have had an intake and possibly a 93 octane tune and still keep the car from being really loud like most modded vettes are? oh and the vette was a manual transmission for what its worth

I can't see your car really hanging with an LSx powered car from a roll.

ur right stis are fast but stock 4 stock in a quarter mile or more a ls1 will beat a sti.[sm=sorry.gif] and 411s should help but dont all wheel drive cars lose 15% power after 60 or 70. by the way if it was a ls2 vette he really was playing with u.[sm=signs007.gif] either way honorable death and sweet ride.[sm=Flahssssss.gif]

Good numbers. I've been neck/neck with a 6L GTO (my finer hour
) and have been killed by a couple of vettes. (c5-C6? not sure).
I've made waste of several T/A's (WS6), couple of LS1 Z28'sand a lot of imports (
).
I now have 4.10 gearing (as of yesterday) and plan to have a Zex 100 kit by next week. Scared yet?
Just kidding bro. I'd love to hook up over in west houston area. Pm me.

The other thing worth noting is that you shouldn't be shifting at redline (not saying that you do, but if you are). I shift my STI at about 5900 rpm.
