What's your point? I've seen a C5 vette lose to a Dodge Ram Rumble Bee! That was a fluke and definitely the driver in the C5 was retarded!

I raced a C5 ragtop that I raced a few times back to back from a light and I tore him a new a$$hole out of the hole......granted by 70mph he'd start closing the gap some. Point is driver can always make up for their cars shortcomings.

You can't gauge a race on what you've seen one guy do. People told me SN95 Cobra's would destroy me, and I beat one, and lost by a nose to a fully bolted on one. You need to stop assuming every driver is race car driver!

You seem to not get that weight is a big factor in racing too. S197's are heavier, although they do make more power. Again, with the weight advantage, gears, and his few suspension and performance mods, he should be a drivers race with an S197. To think otherwise is being a fanboy.

 

i was talking about 2 experienced drivers IMO the new edge driver was a better driver, it was a very close race.

I dunno, but I just feel like so many things in here that have been said are sooooo wrong. A new edge running high 13's stock? I wanna see that! no way...And the New Edge GT's having 250-260 rwhp stock? No No NO! That's the flywheel. If the OP had suspension work I would think it's more believable, but with what he has, he could run even or beat a stock S197. Now to cammels claim...beating a C5? How is a 3300lb car with 230whp (New Edge) going to run high 13's stock? A stock S197 runs high 13's.


As for the OP's race, good job. I think your car is the faster one. Gears make a huge difference.

He closed in on me by 70MPH.....Now if you have any bit of logic, If I tore him a new one out of the hole, and he closed in on me by 70mph......he would've past me by the 1/4mile!
