Shifter= Faster
If you don't think that shifting faster will help your times then when you go to grab second leave the clutch in for a few seconds and then shift into gear. Repeat through every gear and watch you be a half second slower then normal. The faster that you are out and back into another gear the more time your putting power to the ground and the higher your keeping your RPM's in your power band. There are people who shift pretty goos as is and a good shifter will not do much for them. But there are also people that cant shift to have thier lives and could pull a .1 or .2 from a good shifter.
Add to the fact that if you get one with positive stops you no longer risk hurting the tranny when you jamb it into gear. Stock shifters are week and slopy. Aftermarket shifters are crips and strong. The difference it makes depends mostly on the driver.

My Hurst Comp Plus seems like it was made for powershifting. Goes into every gear like butter at WOT. The short throws lemme get the power to the ground faster than the craptastic stock shifter.

JD what's your definition of powershift:
shift without using clutch at the right RPM
or
shift, using clutch, but not taking foot off gas?
I've heard it both ways

i know you aren't asking me, but from what i understood it's just shifting without taking your foot off the gas.

i slide my car out of gear and into nuetral all the time without using the clutch. except from first to neutral, then it's rough. otherwise it's smooth as hell just as long as you give it a smidgen of gas before putting it in neutral. requires no effort.
when i had my Honda.........id go thru all the gears and not use the clutch....do it the way a semi-driver shifts. just gotta find the shift points. i can 2-3-4 and 4-3-2 in the 'Stang....most of the time. it either goes in or it doesnt(doesnt grind, just, STOPS). then i gotta push the clutch in
but, in my Honda, it was EEEAAAASY.

Yes that is rev matching, I'm sorry I should have been more clear, under full throttle shifts you need to use the clutch or you will hurt the trans, everbody get it now? and why did pro-shifted get ***** out?
*edit LOL I left out the f in shifted, LOL
