when i had my Honda.........id go thru all the gears and not use the clutch....do it the way a semi-driver shifts. just gotta find the shift points. i can 2-3-4 and 4-3-2 in the 'Stang....most of the time. it either goes in or it doesnt(doesnt grind, just, STOPS). then i gotta push the clutch in but, in my Honda, it was EEEAAAASY.
WTF? Why would you ever shift gears without using the clutch??[&:] Is there something I'm missing here? That just seems like it would destroy the tranny.[]

NOT if you match the revs. thats what truckers too. they dont use the clutch except for when they take off. THATS IT !!

and powershifting, yes, is not letting off the gas when you shift. gas to the floor, push clutch in, shift, let clutch out. but youd better be fast w/ it. and i mean, FAST. i let off the gas completely when i race and i do just fine

A Mechanic tried to explain it to me once...something bout a pressure plate and it seperating from sometihin allows you to puul it out of gear w/ no clutch and then just tap the clutch to put it in gear and if done right it shift like an auto.....I think that is how he explained it.

Hmmmmm, I just don't get the point of doing that. What is the advantage of not using your clutch? I personally would never try that in my car.

I don't care how smooth it feels. If your shifting without a clutch even during a rev match your going to abuse the syncros and blocker rings in time.
