The fastest Viper I've seen ran like high 5's iirc? It was a Pro Mod though, definitely not a street car. Nitrous fed. They were having all sorts of engine problems with the thing, but it was the first Pro Mod Viper so it had it's teething problems. When it was on though the thing would certainly grab and go.
lmao!!! My gf and I were just talking about "vette people." LOL! A different breed for sure! Your post made me laugh.
I took my dad out for fathers day (he's got newer vette), and he's got one of those exhausts to where you can have it either be loud or quiet, depending on how much "loudness" you want to hear. Anywho, now since my car is [almost] fully completed I tried pulled up next to him on a 50mph road to see if he would bite, and to see how his car sounded. He didn't bite tho, just gave me one of those "im in a vette" looks. Oh well, I'll just wait for test 'n tune day to show some Ford wrath.
And on a sidenote... have you noticed the ratio of vanity plates for vettes compared to other cars?

I must admit that most of the Viper owners we ran into at car shows were either old, tools, or both.
