I remember hearing about their crazy gains from tunes. That seems to be the norm with factory boosted cars though.... (maybe not that biga gains, but more than most n/a)

I'll have to find a way to charge up my old laptop Stonie, a whole lot of vids are lost on that, until I can get it charged and get them on a thumbdrive or something. That car in particular was pretty damn quick, came around 89 like he put it in park, lol.

Good run buddy, good to see some new stories coming up!

I honestly hadn't even noticed him until he did so, but none the less, when he punched it his front end kicked up and he left us....so I crept back up to him. Got to his rear bumper, downshifted to 2nd, (the 335 anticipated me and slowed down to 30ish), and as soon as I got even with him he gassed it, as did I. He put his rear bumper at my front bumper from the get go since he got the hit, but by 60 I was even with him. By 80 his front bumper was at my rear bumper and we both had to get on the brakes due to traffic.

What was done to that 335 to pull so good? Intake/tune? I've heard they pick up ridiculous gains from a tune, like 75 rwhp ridiculous..
75 from a cheap tune, 100hp easily from many of the nicer setups..

Its great as a 'fake' 4dr or early family car.. You can sit babies, or midgets in the back of a 3 series. Been there done that. They have not gotten bigger inside despite their slight outside growths the past decade. The back seats on a 3 series are about as useful as the rear seats in our stangs, or worse (except you do have 4 dr, so you can crawl in easier!) Great little '1st family car' as baby seats n such work well. Once they have legs long enough to dangle, it gets tight...

Get a big boy 5 series, 545 and 550s are nothing to sneeze at, and your passengers can get decent blood circulation going while sitting in them...

My wife has a 328i sedan. The back seat is FAR better than the rear of my mustang. When my mom comes to town she literally sits across the back seats of my car. My wife had an 05 Focus sedan before and we'd always use it for when people had to be in the back seat. The BMW is literally the exact same size on the inside (although way bigger on the outside). I rode in the back of the 328i after having set the passenger seat for how I like to sit in it and was comfortable. I cannot do that in my mustang, I can't even get my feet in the footwell.

Sure I'd get a 5 series or something bigger when I have larger people that need to sit in the back all the time, but we don't even have kids yet.

I thought they had pretty good room in the rear. No doubt sport sedans are tighter than full size tanks, but they are way roomier than a Stangs back floor board. At least of us under 6', lol.

The space in my stang with my seat back is the same that I had with the seat back in my old E46. (nil) Then again that is from the 6'5" gallery. I quite literally at turns, would be looking out the rear window behind the B pillar to see traffic .

My 3 series spacing may be biased; I was used to the seat all the way back and inclined so my knees aren't wrapped around the steering wheel. (or my ears) I always called it a fake 4dr, as for me it was more like 3dr. My rear driver side door was like new!

I got a friend like that. He has an SRT 300 and does the same thing...seat allll the way back and uses the rear passenger window as his own. I'm almost a foot shorter than you, so its a way different situation for me, lol. A full size would def suit you much better especially with rear passengers.

It's bimmer, not beemer.

Booyah.

Haha, just bustin' *****. I just moved from the land of bimmers and Benz'z. And I caught some **** from bimmerworld fanboys because I initially called them beemers. I'm not classifying all bimmer dudes, but there are a lot of stuck up owners...noses all in the air and **** lol. But I guess you can say that about anyone.

Yah, generally you have to be in the 'bmw' crowd or heavily into cars/bikes to catch that nuance. beemers are the bikes, bimmers are the cars.

You ever poke around bimmerforums much? That was my 1-stop shop. The Local ATL gang on there was pretty darn cool actually. For bimmer owners, I was happily shocked when I found them in 2003.

You're right about fanboys - every brand has 'em - as the car cost goes up, their noses curve a little more upwards too..

I looked at the 335i closely... didn't like the handling (i've discussed this before, understeer is not fun for me...I could probably get used to it..but 10+ years in an f-body does something to you). The other thing is when other owners tell you not to own a car outside of warranty is doesn't speak well to me. My junk is cheap when things break... as much as the 335i is an improvement over my f-body it's just not worth it. If I could swing payments on a new one in warranty I would probably still consider it though.
