Yesturday i floored it from a stop, and hit 6000RPMS at 60mph, and heard a weird noise, so i let off, wondering if this is normal for an auto to get that high?

 

1. im guessing its automatic. 2. did you have it in first or 2nd(if its an automatic). i can tach my 2nd gear out to @ 63/65mph in my 5-spd w/ 3.08's. so, that might be normal. dont kno much about shiftpoints in the 'Stang automatics

 

what did the sound....um....sound like?
