What am I messing up on during my launch? (video included)

Two steps aren't bad if you just wanna floor it and go.. Should be fine on the motor as it's only revving to the stopping point you set it to (i.e. 5K rpms) so it's no different then just holding the throttle at that point yourself.. Keep in mind though if you plan to race it often and compete is certain events that two steps are not always allowed so check with your track regulations.

So the PSI isn't to blame? I have no problems launching at 5k. I'm not expert but I'm quite confident I'm losing at least a half a second at the line that's keeping me from 11's. Those are some really sticky tires. I was fooling around with them aired up to 26 psi and they still stuck pretty good. They actually ride quite nice on the highway.

You stock other than tires?
IMO, you shouldn't have to go all the way up to 5k to get a strong launch. I'm pulling 1.6 60s leaving at 2800 RPM. Here's my advice. First, put some air in those tires. 17 psi is way too low. You are creating a lot of drag with that low PSI. I'd take it up to at least 22 pounds, launch at 3500-4k slipping the clutch, NOT straight dumping it, and go from there. If it still bogs, then raise your RPM to 4200-4500 whilst slipping the clutch. I think its a combo of low PSI and dumping the clutch. Thats why you're able to half way launch without bogging at 5k RPM. Also, warm those tires up more. Get them smoking. Just takes practice, you'll figure it out.

What size tires are those and what gear is in your car??
If you are on a 28" tall tire and have anything less than a 3.73 or 4.10 (preferably), there is your problem. You will have to rev it to the moon to keep it from bogging.
A litle bit of clutch slip is a good thing also. If you hit it too hard (5K clutch dump) the stock 2 pc driveshaft may let go.

I don't really dump it when I go. It's more like I jerk my knee and foot up at the same time.
