Last weeks example.... as stated above...varies to a degree but you can ballpark it.

2.020 60ft - 12.421
1.955 60ft - 12.271

0.65 diff = .15 ET

In this case every tenth would be worth .24

My experience has been the same as Mishri's, .1 60 ft reduction = .1 ET reduction. A car that has traction problems even beyond the 60 ft mark may see different results after correcting the problem. Also, a good torque converter will help your ET down the whole track, not just on the launch. I think that may be where the idea came from that somehow cutting time rarly in the run is more important. On all of my timeslips from any given track outing, the variance in the 60 ft times matches the variance in the overall ET.

Here's what I've done. Bought the car with an AOD with 3000 stall and shift kit. Street tires, no spin.

Best time ……13.5 @ 108, 2.20 60ft.

Swapped to T5, and big and littles with 26x8 ETDrags

Best time…… 12.4 @ 108, 1.66 60ft.

Your 60ft is everything, well at my power level at least.

That is an interesting point, are most of you letting off when you start spinning on launch? that would explain bad 60' = more than 1:1 difference. With me I just stayed on it because I never spun bad enough to worry about it... and with the auto it's just floor it the whole time...

I think 88orangepeel notchs results aren't really comparing just 60' difference, you have more power at the tires with the manual and the big&lils and can launch higher.

I think the OP's times could be better with tires, and possibly better driving.. but likely tires.

I was getting out to straighten the car...then it spun again till i hit second.....in hindsight i should have tried starting out in second to see what would happen.

I NEVER stay in it once I start spinning. It'll never stop spinning if I don't, and if I try to get back into it she'll kick down a gear and just break loose again.

I've rarely spun... I seem to bog on almost every launch, the runs where I get any amount of spin I let out/feather and they are usually really bad compared to a clean run.
