you have to understand it's all about cfm's....not psi. a small turbo making 18 psi would still get smoked by a larger turbo (moving more cfm's) at 10 psi given the same motor and supporting mods. a small turbo at 20psi is probably out of it's efficiency range and will push hot air which leads to detonation, pulled timing, dumped fuel, and a major decrease in performance. most people don't understand this, if you buddy is on a stock or 16-18g level turbo and 20psi...he could probably make more power at 17-18 psi (which would be the max in its efficiency chart). if you know what turbo it is you can look up its efficiency chart. the same is true for sc and blowers. that's why a 1.7L KB would get killed by a 2.4L even though they are similar...the 2.4 moves many more cfms.

second eclipse arnt all that stock, ive raced a 1996 GST eclipse turbo and i whialed on it on the HWY, from a roll, and from a dig, from a stop i beat it by about 3car lenghts at 100 some mph, but I will admit the ones that are modded can be fast as F***, I also raced a 1997 GSX at the track and he can out of the hole a big faster then I did and ended up winnning by about a full car lenght, not sure what it had dun thought, but i didnt see a front mount intercooler

ive got a buddy around here thats got a black 97 GST. he rapes C6 vettes and hes got a new setup thats putting over 600 hp at the crank going in within a couple weeks. hes got a 20g turbo thats ported and stuff and is running 17lbs of boost and 3 inch downpipe with 3 inch greddy exhuast. then he has no cat and also a CAI. he estimates the car to have around 350-360 fwhp.

 

no i didnt get her number.. we tried to get her to pull over so we could talk but she didnt want to, she said she was in a hury... but i dunno about that. and the fact that there was 3 guys tryin to get her to pull over didnt help either. i wish i got her number. but damn that thing was nuts.

 

i had an fp green turbo on my old dd talon...it very similar to a 20g and it made 347awhp. very good turbo (up to 500hp) for pretty cheap
