Default 98 cavalier help

does any1 know what a 98 cavalier with an intake and top of the line spark plugs will run u in the 1/4 mile? my bud at work seems to think he'll get 15's easy with it... somehow i just dont see that 4 banger hitting low 15's...

Adding high end spark plugs is like adding a 100 shot of nitrous. You must have missed that memo!

I give him low low 10s. High 9s with slicks.

There are plenty of stock 4bangers in the 14s and a few ones in the 13s Think STI / EVO.

Depends on the model. Z24 5 speeds are quick bastards.

My buddy and I both had 5spd Cavalier Z24's before we moved up to Mustangs. I ended up getting in a wreck with mine before I could get it to the track, but he managed to run his a few times.

He ran a 15.4 with just catback and K&N. Not too bad at all for what it is really. They have nothing on GT's, but the V6 Mustangs should be careful if they're stock.

My '99 Z24 ran 15.4's bone stock with the paper filter and all. But if he's the typical driver, maybe high 15's or low 16's. Hope that helps.
