looks are subjective, but dog slow? if you consider a 350z dog slow, then you consider every stock pre-'05 mustang gt dog slow.

 

yep, the power they put out from a 3.5L v-6 is definitely impressive. it has a lot to do with their compression and number of valves. they feel slower because the power curve is pretty linear, and not as much torque as big v8s.

 

wtf u said they are slow? They are anything from slow for a v6. And they are faster then a stock 04 and under gt.

btw, ford must of really ****ed up bad if they couldnt get a v8 to make as much power as nissan did with their v6. Face it, domestic technology is years behind imports...

 

Uhhhh no...too bad if you compare the cars in the same price range the Cobra would be the contender. Hell even the mach1 or 05 GT will walk a 350z.

However, to defend the 350, its more of a luxery type sports car. We had one at the ford dealership i used to work at and ya it wasnt mind boggling fast, but jeez that thing was NICE. A LOT smoother then any stang ive ever been and the build quality was much higher.

 

All I was saying was nissan made a v6 with around 280 hp wheras ford has a v8 with 260. Why couldnt ford push the v8 mustang higher than 260? Or rated it at 260 but had it make more power.
Yes, the cobra will take the Z. It would put 10 busses on it. Im sure if nissan made a v8 NA and would be close competition to the cobra.

Im pretty sure the 350 was more then 26 grand. From edmunds.com.

That averages out to about 35000. When my mom went to the nissan dealer they were all more then 30 grand. Im not sure about the cobra but i think it was less then 36 grand.

And about the engines output. In 1986 Yamaha developed an engine to go in the ford taurus sho that was 3 liters and made 220. The nissan puts about about 10 more hp/liter but that engine was developed more then a decade after.

Multiple reason, price being the biggest. They also have to follow smog/noise standereds. Why would they have it make more power and still rate it the same? Not very smart marketing.

Not tryin to dis the 350z, its an awesome car i think, just stating the facts cuz i think your pulling numbers outa your @$$.

 

well, you're neglecting torque. the GT has almost 30lbs more of torque.

 

Oh ya and another thing in the nissans defense, yes they are more expensive then fords. Ford main goal is profit. Nissan is the same but they offer a much higher build quality at a higher price.
