i totally disagree. here in phoenix i hardly ever see middle aged people dirivng them; all young ones. As a matter of fact, the mid life chrisis-mobile of the century award goes the to corvette. I LOVE the corvette but 99.789798734% of the people that drive them are either A. in a mid life chrisis or B. have never really opened up the thottle/driven the car to its potential.

Differs from around here......

And as far as the vette being a mid life crisis mobile, at least it has the ***** to back it up. And for reference, i know over 20 vette owners, NONE of which have less than 400rwhp, and many in the 500's.

no, thats not an exaggerration.

You all are neglecting the fact that the Z doesn't dyno very high. They dyno maybe 10 more whp than a2v GT.
an its only a 3.5L V6. 287hp and 274tq VS fords V6 a 4.0 and only makes 210HP and240tq

i think that domestic thechnology is years behind imports, not beacuse they cant come up with a better more powerful
product but they just dont want to invest the money that goes into doing that. i love mustangs as much as the next guy but i have
to admit that the VQ35DE is a better engine.

The 350Z does not compete with the V6 mustang, it is at least 10k more expensive. It is set to compete with a GT. Yes Ford needed a V8 but it is cheaper and faster.

IDK about that, every stang that I see round here has got some kid or young adult ******* the **** out of their ride, I don't know how many guys have driven by me when Im in the turn lane and give me a rev as they go by. Must be a trend around here. most the chickys I see driving stangs are in sixxers.

How can you conciously call a 350z hideous when you drive a camaro? On a scale of 1 to 10 in the styling dept, the 350 ranks in at about an 8.

Your car, however, is about a 3, and i'm being generous.

Google the 1998 Ford Mustang Super Stallion prototype and tell me that domestic manufacturer's tech is behind. Or the 6.1L Hemi. 5.7L Hemi and LS6(?), the three valve 4.6l 281, the 5.4L S/C 331 in the Ford GT, the twin turbo Ford based small block in the Saleen S7 S, teh Saleen S281, SC281, and S281E, the SN95 Saleen mustangs(especially the S351s, whew!) the 2000 Cobra R, and many, many more from both Ford and other dmoestic manufacturers I didn't care to mention because A) this IS a mustang forum and B) I'm a Ford guy, haha. But saying that is just plain stupid! The 2V 281 in the 99-'04 GTs is much more of a modifying platform than a finished from the factory performance motor(like the SC 331 in the Ford GT). Basically, this might have been the case fifteen years ago. But the USA has made one hell of a comeback seince the '70s and '80s in performance vehicles. BUT, this doesn't mean I'm ragging on imports. I thinkt he 350Z is a badass car, that can move too. The S2K is one of my all time favorite cars(and the only convertible I think I'd ever own) and the Mitsu EVOs and Subaru Impreza WRX STis will tear just about anything up, in the quarter or in the bends. I just wouldn't go as far as saying domestics don't have the technology. Whenever we get a vehicle in at the autotec center, we plug an analyzer into the damn thing and read an error code. 90% of the time, this error code tells me exactly whats wrong with the car(in one way or another). To me, thats technology. Because Ford doesn't decide to max out their motors and raise the pric of the vehicle a little doesn't mean they're low-tech. They just didn't feel like it.

Look man everyone can have an opinion. I don't like the camaro style either but I think they look better than the hideous garbage they call a 350z.
