And by the way, VTEC is overrated, it takes a good tuner and a proper setup for it to even make a difference.
I shouldn't say that it's overrated, as it is a brilliant design, but anyone who mentions that their car is VTEC (like it is a big power adder all on it's own) is a ****ing idiot. I hope that clears things up with the honda guys.

VTEC would be fun to have, but I rather have DOHC. But then again I rather have LIFT. Which if you people dont know what it is, its like VTEC, but in the Celica GTS. At 6000rpms you get a 40 hp lift and thats why the GTS Celica is rated 40 more hp than a Celica GT. I doubt anyone cares, but I figured I would inform some of you of this.

I agree with 4DOOR and 2000, I've seen some quick sohc 14b turbo civics, capable of high 13's with a good driver and decent traction, and don't forget; he can run ANY amount of boost the turbo is capable of, it's just the question of how much fuel/how much does he care about the motor(not much if he is familiar with swaps and the fact that u can get them for $200 or less). Basically what I'm trying to say is that the SOHC turbo is like a newer contact lens: DISPOSABLE
A sohc is limited by the block. A d16z6 will hold ten pounds of boost on stock internals, provided ample fuel being supplied.

I have 52 hp over a non-vtec 1.6L SOHC d16y7....

VTEC is lift... Variable Valve Timing and Electronic Lift Control. Kinda like VVTL-i, only easier to say outloud.

LOL. Alot of time when I talk about LIFT with people they are confused and dont believe what I'm talking about. I try to explain to them its like VTEC, but only on a Celica. But then they realize it once I smoke their azz.

haha People are so quick to insult and downplay the advancement in engine technology VTEC/VVTL-i have played in developing high strung small displacement engines... yet 90% of the people on this board don't know the meaning of the two acronyms.

I love this board.

I love this board too. I'm glad I have the Stang and my VVTL-i. I basically can race in 2 classes with my 2 cars. But its only a matter of time until the Celica is beating the Stang.
