LMFAO! Booze, I swear I shed a tear from that one. Too funny!

Nice race 2000. Those STi's are no joke from a stop like that. I want cams too[]

ive taken an 05 off the dig. and i have half the mods as you..
I don't see how. The STI is a 13.1 or 13.0 second car bone stock.

It was 30 degrees outside, and I didn't preheat the nittos. We were in a bit of a hurry, so I basically just blew the tires off all thru 1st.

However, from the roll race you can see it was pretty dammed close. I did shift JUST a little early into 3rd (you can hear my car bog) but I don't think it would have made that much differnce.

Maybe the guy you raced couldn't drive?? Or wasn't sitting on the limiter?? Also, I have no idea what his mods are worth on horsepower. And I was also 225 pounds up from the driver.

But I still don't see how even a full boltons minus cams GT could ever hang with em from a stop thru about 120 without running full on slicks.
low 13s capability. Doesn't mean they're going to run it all the time. Much like a 99-04 GT is capable of running 13.9s, but it's just not going to happen all the time.

lol @ 13.9's

Good run man...If you didn't granny shift, I think you might have pulled him a little.
I am SCARED of raping the new tranny. I was shifting fairly quickly, but I did hose the 2nd to 3rd shift in the roll race.

Powershifting is OUT for me. I am not taking that chance again, even if the new TKO should be able to take it.

HAHAHAHAH

those two posts must have gotten pretty ugly for booze to have to edit them like that

i wish i had a better than dial up connection,, damnit, holy crap i hate this thing...

so you think on a warmer day at a track you could have taken him?
Hell, I ended up passing him anyway in 4th gear, right before he let off. But 1/4 mile wise, I would say on a prepped track, or even a good warm day with my nittos heated I could get em in the 1/4. I just start reeling him in around 3rd and really hard in 4th.

well its a tenth of a second for every 100 lbs so without the camera man its .225 off your 1/4 time. Might have got him from the dig

Damn your GT sounds mean as hell....i've always liked how the stangs sound. STI's aren't really that fast...300 at the crank...being kind with 20% loss....240 at the wheels. Run'em at a 60ish roll...and watch him drop back like he put it in reverse. Now modded is a diff story....

Sister bf has one with intake, fuel rails, fuel rails and a tune..he put down 345..I can believe he sold his custom made turbo to buy a couch

On the STI the uppipe won't really do anything.
They are catless from the factory, so he probably
just got one that's .5 inches larger in diameter, allowing
a bit more air and quicker boost spool up.
Maybe 3-5 hp for the uppipe.

The TBE similiar story. They have only 1 cat in them as it is
and flow pretty good stock. So, he might of gained another
6-10 hp if he went with a high performance TBE and might have
lost a few pounds in weight.

Overall, with just an uppipe and TBE there's only 8-15 hp gained.
If he would of simply spent $600 on a reflash though, he'd
gain about another 50+ hp and then you would of been in trouble.

I agree with what you said to the other guy.
STI's will rip low 1.7 in the 60 foot times and
with minor mods into the 1.6's.
No light or even moderately modded GT is going to do
that without DR's

BS...did you see his mods and his sheet personally...or is this what he told you. Gaining 100 awhp from fuel rails, intake and tune isn't gonna happen...even if they are pig rich from the factory. He either has more mods or he's lying his *** off.
