i beat an 04-05 STi tonight from a 10mph roll it was stock and he had 2 passengers thats y i beat em lol

Damn your GT sounds mean as hell....i've always liked how the stangs sound. STI's aren't really that fast...300 at the crank...being kind with 20% loss....240 at the wheels. Run'em at a 60ish roll...and watch him drop back like he put it in reverse. Now modded is a diff story....
Sister bf has one with intake, fuel rails, fuel rails and a tune..he put down 345..I can believe he sold his custom made turbo to buy a couch
BS...did you see his mods and his sheet personally...or is this what he told you. Gaining 100 awhp from fuel rails, intake and tune isn't gonna happen...even if they are pig rich from the factory. He either has more mods or he's lying his *** off.

i talked to him to make sure thats what he had because ive seen the dyno sheet and he said he up the boost. I believe he said 3 psi ? but im not sure.

Hrm, the VF39 (USDM stock STI turbo) doesn't really have the breath to push 345AWHP. If he was talking about crank horsepower then I could definitely see it. Most people with full exhaust and a tune see just over 300awhp with the VF39.

Here is the closest I've seen on the stock turbo to hitting the WHP number your friend claimed.


330whp and 377 wtorque. Now, that guy had a boost controller, intake, full exhaust, fuel pump, and the kicker: a methanol kit.

The 330whp was done using the meth kit and boosting the stock turbo to 22PSI, which is a LOT for that turbo. It's almost unheard of. If you see the baseline below it, that is his tune on just pump gas at around 19 or 20PSI. So as you can see, with mods similar to your friend's, he is probably looking at more like 300awhp.

Different dynos do read higher or lower than others, so your friend may also just have been on a very generous dyno ^_^

They were saying with tune, he should put down somewhere around 300 AWHP\

I have to assume that he was telling the truth about what was done. I can't argue dyno numbers, only how the car ran. And it ran pretty good.

My car is no slouch and he was doing pretty good, even from a roll, until those first 3 supershort gears ran out.

i mustve missed something........since when are STI's so fast from a roll. they are only trapping 102 at best on an avg. some have went a lil faster, some slower.ur bolt on ONLY stangs should be giving them a good run. moddedones on stock turbo are trapping 106 on avg. dunno , not fast.

Didn't ya see how he was falling off after he got out of 3rd?? The car was geared REAL short in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. I am not surpised they trap low for the 1/4 mile time they run.

That's a lot more mods then the intake, fuel rail and tune that the other guy claimed his friend had and put down 345...it's amazing how less mods equal more power...it's amazing because it doesn't happen
