Upper pulley change questions.

Upper pulley change questions.
How small of an upper pulley can I put on without out having to worry about over heating? I do autocross and road course events so the supercharger runs for extended periods of time. Also will I need a tensioner and a new belt?

RE: Upper pulley change questions.
Kinda of a tough question to answer. Personally, I would not open track my car without the evans cooling mods or a heat exchanger with anythiing smaller than a 2.93. To get the most contact between pulley and belt you will need an auxilary idler and a new belt.

I also recommend a heat exchanger with a pulley change! Your IAT temps will increase with ANY pulley change, which in some cases can cause your computer to pull timing during WOT!! As far as belts go, if you get an aux. snub idler (which will help for belt slip) you can use your stock belt, down to a 3.0 diameter. Make sure you get a Custom tune for your car with a pulley change!! This is vital to the life of your engine. Many of the internal parameters need to be changed to compensate for the added boost!
